In a general sense the author o f the book is Jurgėnai land's community seeking to encourage the people to learn more about the history of their land and honourable past o f their country, which was and still is a refreshing source o f spiritual strength. Jurgėnai land is a historically formed community of twelve villages - Atžalytė, Aukštagojis, Auriliškiai, Dirvonai, Gegabrasta, Jurgėnai, Kalnas, Paįstriečiai, Ramonynė, Stebeikėliai, Stebeikiai and Talkoniai. The land and the community got the name Jurgėnai due to the distinctive role o f the village o f Jurgėnai in the historical development of the land. Geographically, the land is in the northern part of Lithuanian Central Plain, which includes the lowlands of the rivers Nevėžis and Mūša-Nemunėlis. More specifically - this is the place, surrounded from the east by the Svalia rivulet and the village o f Rimkūnai, from the south by Pumpėnai pine wood and Pumpėnai small town, from the west by the Lėvuo River, and from the north by the village of Talačkoniai.
