ENIn our fast moving world not everyone has time to stop and think about the past. A lot of our parents and ancestors' everyday life details are being forgotten. This is happening to weaving - one of the most important jobs done by women. Earlier at certain times there used to stand a loom in every house and women weaved. Now this trade has lost its practical value. Perhaps only folk art lovers can revive it. That is why it is important to hurry gathering information about old patterns and preserve samples of textile in museums. The publication analyses the material from the expeditions in the villages and towns of Anykščiai region. The main purpose is to show the beauty of our mothers, grandmothers and great grandmothers' textile that is why the greatest attention is paid to patterns which are well illustrated.
