Perspectives of ecological agriculture in Lithuania as a factor for sustainable development.

LTDarni žemdirbystės plėtra turi būti ekologiškai pagrįsta, ekonomiškai gyvybinga ir socialiai atsakinga. Straipsnyje kritiškai analizuojami ekologinės žemdirbystės turinys ir problemos žvelgiant iš darnios ekonomikos plėtros perspektyvos. Darni žemdirbystės plėtra yra ekonominis ir socialinis vystymasis, kuris patenkina šiandienos poreikius, ir nekelia pavojaus ateities kartoms patenkinti savuosius. Turi būti vystomi sprendimai, kurie yra tinkami aplinkosauginiu ir socialiniu-ekonominiu požiūriu ne tik šiandien ar netolimoje ateityje, bet taip pat žvelgiant iš ilgalaikės perspektyvos. Tam reikia naujo požiūrio į ekonomikos teoriją, kuris leistų iš naujo peržiūrėti ekonomikos standartus, nes ekonominiai, socialiniai ir instituciniai faktoriai tinkamai neatsispindi modernios ekonomikos teorijos vystymesi. Nepaisant darnios žemdirbystės plėtros potencialo, kai ūkininkai, kaimo bendruomenės, aplinkos ir nacionalinės ekonomikos galėtų gauti naudą, vis dar egzistuoja daug kliūčių ir grėsmių. Vystant ekologinį ūkininkavimą yra labai svarbu: vystyti aplinkos atžvilgiu pagrįstą žemės ūkio politiką, remiant ekologinę žemdirbystę; vystyti atitinkamą juridinę bazę; užtikrinti finansines iniciatyvas; vystyti ekologiškų maisto produktų rinką; vystyti efektyvų krašto ir eksporto platinimo tinklą; gerinti ekologiškų maisto produktų tikrinimo ir sertifikavimo sistemą; skatinti ekologinį ūkininkavimą ūkininkų tarpe. Lietuvoje egzistuoja visos išankstinės sąlygos, reikalingos ekologiškų produktų gamybai: palanki ekologinė situacija; valstybės parama; besiplečianti vidaus ir užsienio rinka ekologiškiems produktams ir kt. ENA harmonious development of farming must be justified ecologically, viable economically and responsible socially. The article provides a critical analysis of the content and problems of ecology farming viewed from the perspective of harmonious development of economy. A harmonious agriculture development is economic and social development, satisfying today’s needs and not raising threat to the needs of future generations. Solutions must be developed, which would be suitable in social-economic terms and within the view of environment protection not just today or in the nearest future, but also viewing from the long-term perspective, which needs a new view of the theory of economy, which would provide the possibility to review the economic standards since no economic, social and institutional factors are duly reflected in the development of modern economy theory. Regardless of the harmonious farming development potential, where farmers, rural communities, environments and national economies could get benefit, there still exist a lot of obstacles and threats. When developing ecology farming it is very important to: develop an agricultural policy, justified in terms of environment; develop a corresponding legal framework; ensure financial initiatives; develop the market of organic foodstuffs; develop an efficient export network; improve the system for verification and certification of organic foodstuffs; encourage ecology farming. Lithuania has all the prerequisites, necessary for production of organic foodstuffs: favourable ecological situation; support from the state; the developing internal and foreign organic foodstuffs market, etc., which creates the preconditions for export of organic products.
