ENAlthough the Consumer Protection Institute in Lithuania is sufficiently long governed by both national and European Union legislation, but some practical aspects consumer rights are problematic. The rights of consumers protecting in Lithuania coordinated by the States Authority of Consumer Rights Protection. In recent years, consumer complaints constantly expanding. The most common complaint is of poor quality purchased non-food items (computer equipment, mobile terminals, for domestic use electrical goods, furniture), clothes dry cleaning, mobile telephone services, poor quality of construction, repairs, performance, energy performance of non-compliance, the energy accounting and payment for energy consumed, tour operator services, consumer contracts arc. The European Commission research the Consumer Conditions Index, which reflects consumer protection system performance in each of the EU countries. Recent research shows that Lithuania is one of the last in EU under consumer conditions index.Last year Index in Lithuania was just 49% above, the EU average was 61%, point, while in the United Kingdom was 75%points and was the highest in the EU. To find out why consumer's protection in Lithuania is not sufficient, been made analysis of legal regulation of consumer rights and practical their implementation, according to practise of Lithuanian Supreme Court. The article analyzes legal regulation of protection of consumer rights in national and EU level, also analyzing problematical aspects of issues of violate of consumer rights protection. The article also analyzes the non-judicial and judicial distortion of consumer remedies, estimated which of these methods are effective.
