Managing top level domain names and countries’ branding on the internet
LTInterneto naudojimas pasauliniu mastu nuolatos auga, nes tai tapo svarbiausia infrastruktūros dalimi. Iki 1990-ųjų metų pabaigos didesnė dalis pasaulio valdžios institucijų daugiau ar mažiau ignoravo internetą, tame tarpe ir savo šalies pristatymą. Šiame straipsnyje rašoma, kad interneto kaip informacijos ir komunikacijos priemonės svarba ir pripažinimas ne taip lengvai skynėsi kelią. Anot profesoriaus Wolfgang Kleinwachter iš Aarhus universiteto (Danija) interneto sistema išaugo valstybės valdžios šešėlyje. UNESCO organizuotame renginyje „Nauja pasaulinės informacijos ir komunikacijos tvarka“ Internetas, kaip komunikacijos ir informacijos priemonė, visai nebuvo minimas. 1995 metais lapkričio mėn. vykusiame pasaulio viršūnių susitikime apie informacinę visuomenę, Tunise, buvo diskutuojama šia tema, tačiau konkrečių sprendimų nepriimta. Lietuvoje interneto naudojimas nuolatos auga, ypač tai pastebima 2005 – 2006 metais, kaip teigia Informacijos technologijos vystymo institutas prie Kauno Technologijos universiteto. Lietuvos vyriausybė ruošia naują programą, skirtą Lietuvos įvaizdžio gerinimui bei geresniam informacijos koordinavimui talpinant internete. Tai reiškia, kad mūsų šalies valdžia internetą laiko ne tik svarbiu ekonomikos vystymesi, bet ir reikalingos informacijos platinimo priemone.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Internetas; Vartotojai; Įvaizdis; Internet; Usage; Image.
ENGlobal Internet usage is constantly increasing, as it has become the most important part of infrastructure. Up to the end of 1990 the major part of world authority institutions ignored Internet more or less, including representation of their own country. This article introduces that the importance and acknowledgement of Internet as a mean of information and communication made its way not so easily. According to Professor Wolfgang Kleinwachter from the University of Aarhus (Denmark), the system of Internet developed in the shadow of the state government. At the event „Nauja pasaulinės informacijos ir komunikacijos tvarka“ (“New Order of World Information and Communication”) organized by UNESCO, Internet as a mean of communication and information was utterly untouched. At the World Summit on information society, which took place in November, 1995, in Tunis, this theme was discussed, but no concrete decisions were adopted. In Lithuania, the usage of Internet is constantly increasing; especially it was noticeable in 2005 – 2006, as states the Information Technology Development Institute of Kaunas University of Technology. The Government of Lithuania is preparing a new programme intended for the improvement of image of Lithuania and better information coordination by placing it on Internet. This means that the authorities of our country consider Internet as being important not only for the development of economy, but also as a mean for dissipation of necessary information.
