ENIn the article, the concept of otherness and its role in the process of the education of the person is considered. Levinasí philosophy is founded on the idea of human face-to-face relations, in which other person appears not only as a silhouette but also as a face, which vividly expresses his nature. The real nature of the other expresses itself not so much through his appearance as through his thinking and talking. The relation, established during dialogue, leaves a deep imprint of responsibility, and changes its own form from a need to a desire. That imprint provides the model of the relation between me and other person, corrects the connection between being and transcendence. This way, Levinasí otherness, founded on Christian values, is understood as the determination of interpersonal relations, which enables the deeper penetration into the human being and expands the dimensions of education.
