ENThe present paper is designed for studying development trends of the first drawings of children (the scribbles) as well as the very types of the scribbles itself. The drawings of 113 normal development children 15-50 months age from Vilnius city and region were studied during longitudinal study in 2003-2004 years. It were analysed according to Kellogg (1969) children's Art Classification System. The results of the research show that there are all types of scribbles referred by Kellogg in the drawings’ of children. Statistical analysis using Student's criterion indicates that after one year the drawings became more complex, i.e. generally. There are less scribbles, drawings of more complex forms appear (in both cases the value of p is less than 0.05).
