Der Hafen in Memel in den Jahren 1664 bis 1722

LTIki šiol nėra Klaipėdos uostui skirtos monografijos, kuri chronologiškai ir tematiškai apimtų visą šio uosto istoriją. Geriausiai yra ištirta XIX a. II pusės ir XX amžiaus uosto istorija. Atliktu tyrimu siekiama užpildyti 1664–1722 m. laikotarpio spragą istoriografijoje. Chronologinius rėmus lėmė šaltinių padėtis, visų pirma, Klaipėdos (Memelio) muitų knygoje likę 1664–1722 m. 39 įrašai, kuriuose užfiksuota informacija apie per uostą keliavusias prekes. Straipsnyje aprašomi pagrindiniai mokesčiai, kurie fiksuoti muitų knygose, mokesčių surinkimo procedūriniai dalykai, kiek juos įmanoma nustatyti. Buvo apmokestinami įplaukiantys ir išplaukiantys laivai su kroviniais. Tiriamo laikotarpio bendram vaizdui susidaryti pasitelkiami ir kiti istoriniai šaltiniai, o taip pat lenkų bei vokiečių istorikų skelbti Klaipėdos uosto istorijos tyrimai. Pažymima, kad didesni laivai, vengdami užstrigti, likdavo įlankoje prie uosto. Sprendžiant šią problemą XVIII a. pradžioje buvo numatyta vykdyti uosto gilinimo darbus, kurių finansavimui bandyta pasitelkti muitų mokesčių lėšas. Vis dėlto suprasta, kad papildomi mokesčiai atbaidys laivų savininkus ir pirklius. Dėl nepakankamo finansavimo Dangės žiotyse tuomet pavyko nurinkti tik akmenis. Svarbesnės investicijos uoste įvykdytos XVIII a. viduryje. 1664–1722 m. laivų judėjimas buvo palyginus nedidelis, o Klaipėdos uostas pagal aplankančių laivų skaičių, jų dydį ir krovinių apyvartą negalėjo prilygti stambesniems Baltijos jūros uostams, yra lygintinas su kitais mažais uostais, tokiais kaip Elbingas ir Kolbergas.

ENAlthough it would chronologically and thematically cover the entire history of Klaipeda port, there is no monograph dedicated to this port until now. The second half of 19th century and the 20th century are the most analysed periods. The aim of the study was to complete the periodic gap of 1664-1722 in historiography. The chronological framework was determined by the sources, in particular, 39 entries in the Customs Memorandum of Klaipėda (Memel) in 1664-1722 that contain information about the goods transported through the port. The article describes the main duties of the Customs record books, tax collection, as far as it is observed. Taxes on incoming and outgoing cargo ships were charged. Other historical sources, as well as the studies of the history of Klaipėda Seaport, published by Polish and German historians, are used to form a common image of the researched period. It is noted that in order to avoid getting stuck, larger ships stayed at the bay near the port. Addressing this problem, at the beginning of 18th century it was planned to carry out port dredging works, that were supposed to be financed by the money obtained from the taxes. However, it was clear that additional taxes will discourage the shipowners and merchants from using the port. Due to the lack of funding, only the stones were eliminated from the delta of Dangė river. More important investments in the port were made in the middle of 18th` century. The ship's movement was relatively small in 1664-1722, and according to the number of visiting ships, their size and cargo turnover, Klaipeda's port could not be equal with the larger ports of the Baltic Sea. Klaipėda’s port is usually comparable to other small ports such as Elbing and Kolberg.
