Summary / Abstract:

ENThe article offers analysis of the Lithuanian model of mediation in criminal justice, the aspects of its development and implementation. Additionally, the authors consider the place of mediation within criminal justice in the general institutional framework of mediation. The model of mediation in probation services is further revealed, its practice and perspectives are discussed, analysing the advanced practice of European countries in the application of mediation in criminal justice. The authors also assess the existing legal framework in Lithuania and the need to change the current regulatory framework for the implementation of mediation in criminal justice in the legal system.
