Dvaras modernėjančioje Lietuvoje : XIX a. antra pusė - XX a. pirma pusė : recenzija
LT2005 m. išleistas straipsnių rinkinys „Dvaras modernėjančioje Lietuvoje“ liudija didėjantį mokslininkų susidomėjimą Lietuvos dvarų istorija. Leidinyje dvarai nagrinėjami įvairiais aspektais – kaip muzikos, dailės, amatų, ekonominio gyvenimo centrai. Tačiau ši apžvalga atskleidžia ne tik įvairiapusišką, bet ir fragmentišką požiūrį į dvarų paveldą. Daugelyje straipsnių stinga apibendrinto žvilgsnio į dvarą kaip į istoriškai susiklosčiusią ūkinių, teisinių ir kultūrinių santykių visumą, nes koncentruojamasi į siauras profesines problemas. Modernių nacionalizmų formavimosi laikais Lietuvos dvaro vaizdinys buvo nuolatinių manipuliacijų objektas. Carinės Rusijos administracija jį naudojo antilenkiškoms gyventojų nuotaikoms kurstyti. Pirmojo pasaulinio karo metu jis tapo prieš slavų tautas nukreiptos okupacinės vokiečių valdžios propagandos priemone. Tarpukariu dvarų klausimas buvo paverstas Lenkijos ir Lietuvos valstybių kovos įrankiu, o sovietmečiu – klasių ideologijos argumentu. Negatyvūs veiksniai suformavo lietuvio santykį su dvarų paveldu, paženklintą išankstiniu atsiribojimu ir nepatiklumu. Straipsnių rinkinyje mėginama įveikti šią atskirtį. Nuo ankstesnių publikacijų jis skiriasi pirmiausia tuo, kad čia, peržengus XIX–XX a. sandūros ribą, dvaro tradicijų mėginama ieškoti modernioje Lietuvoje. ENIn 2005 the publication of the collection of articles “Manors in modernising Lithuania “bore witness to the increasing academic interest in the history of noblemen’s estates (manor homes) in Lithuania. Articles in the publication dealt with the various activities for which the manors were focal points: music, art, trades, economic activity. But this review mentions not only the multi-faceted but also the fragmented attitude to the manorial legacy. Most of the articles lack a generalised view of the manors as a totality of historically converging economic, legal and cultural links, since they concentrate on narrow professional issues. At the time of emergent modern nationalism, the image of Lithuanian manors was the object of continual manipulation. The Tsarist administration used it to stir up anti-Polish feeling in the population. During the German occupation of World War I, the Germans used it as a propaganda measure directed against Slavs in general. In the inter-war independence period, the manor issue became a tool in the struggle between the Polish and Lithuanian states; and during the Soviet occupation, a ‘class struggle’ topic. These negative factors have shaped Lithuanians’ attitudes to the heritage of the manors, which is an attitude marked by preconceived dissociation and distrust. The collection of articles tries to overcome this disassociation. This publication differs from earlier ones in that it focuses on the search for manor traditions in Lithuania after the end of the nineteenth and the beginning of the twentieth.
