Summary / Abstract:

Straipsnyje apibendrinami empirinio tyrimo duomenys. [Iš leidinio]

ENThe author of this article discusses the importance of Spirituality in nurse’s work. Spirituality helps to integrate practical and scientific knowledge and to find most effective way to help patient in concrete situation of life, when patient deals with fear to dye or with strong pain, or is afraid of future life. Spiritual care was seen as part of the nurses’ responsibility. Contemporary literature spirituality is about an individual’s personal experience with the sacred, which can be experienced anywhere. Poetic‘s therapy studies was based on literature reading and discussion based on personal perception, feelings and personal reminiscences. Creative exercises were used with purpose to stimulate spontaneous writing and better disclosure of emotions and thoughts. All discussions served for learning to understand human being, existential problems. Reflection was typical part in conclusion of every session. All students of nursing were invited to reflect on their experience and to write about meaning of poetics therapy program for their personal development and professional carrier. The data of students’ written reflections were used for analysis. It was revealed that students found courage to prepare for connection with something new: to become open for personal perceptions, feelings, to bring their thoughts into words. They began to understand themselves better and found large spectrum of human being problems. Knowing themselves better they developed ability to experience dialog, became motivated to be emphatic listeners, to see human problems in more holistic way. They evaluated their morality again and strengthened their moral position. Some of them found courage to look for innovations in their professional nurses work. [From the publication]
