Alberto Schweitzerio ir Vydūno biografijų paralelės

LTStraipsnyje nagrinėjamos Alberto Schweitzerio ir Vydūno intelektualinių biografijų paralelės. Schweitzerio fenomeno atgarsiai Lietuvą pasiekė neseniai. Nemaža jo humanistinių idėjų dalis artima mūsų mąstytojui, kultūros ir visuomenės veikėjui Vydūnui. Abu jie gyveno toje pačioje epochoje, regėjo tas pačias globalines dramas, kvėpavo iš esmės ta pačia politinių, socialinių ir kitokių įtampų prisodrinta dvasine atmosfera, sielojosi dėl tų pačių skaudulių, ieškojo panašių būdų jiems gydyti. Būdami labai saviti ir tarpusavyje daug kuo analogiški, Schweitzerio ir Vydūno fenomenai dar nėra sulaukę lyginamosios analizės. Šis straipsnis – pirmasis žingsnis, atskleidžiantis mąstytojų fenomenalumo esmę. Tos esmės ištakos glūdi ne tik idėjų pasaulyje ir bendrajame epochos kontekste, bet ir asmenybiniame biografiniame lygmenyje. Jų biografijose stebėtinai daug panašių dalykų – panaši dvasinė šeimos ir intelektualinė aplinka. Abu mąstytojai susilietė su misionieriavimu ir apsisprendė savo gyvenimus paversti tarnyste žmonėms. Būtinybė vadovautis savo protu, būti sau žmogumi – šie principai abu humanistus lydėjo visa gyvenimą ir darė poveikį gyvenimo nuostatoms ir filosofinėms koncepcijoms. Įvairiai besireiškiančių filosofinės ir meninės kūrybos sferose asmenybių tiesioginė tarnystė žmonėms, individualių pasiekimų aukojimas ant tos tarnystės aukuro yra moralinis žygdarbis, gana retas fenomenas kultūros istorijoje. Juo akivaizdžiausiai parodoma skelbiamų principų ir realios elgsenos darna.

ENThe article analyses the parallels of Albert Schweitzer's and Vydūnas’ intellectual biographies. The echoes of Schweitzer's phenomenon reached Lithuania recently. A large part of his humanistic ideas is familiar to our thinker, cultural and public figure Vydūnas. Both of them lived in the same epoch, saw the same global drama, breathed in basically the same spiritual atmosphere of political, social and other tensions, worried about the same things and sought similar ways to deal with them. They were very unique and alike, but the comparative analysis of the phenomenon of Schweitzer and Vydūnas has not been made. This article is the first step revealing the essence of the thinkers' phenomenon. The origin of this essence lies not only in the world of ideas and in the context of the general era, but also at the personal biographical level. There are surprisingly many similar things in their biographies: similar spiritual and intellectual environment of their family. Both thinkers had contact with the work of missionaries and decided to devote their life to serve people. The need to follow one's mind, to be a human being for oneself - these two principles followed the humanists all their lives and influenced the attitude of life and philosophical concepts. The personalities expressed themselves in various ways in the fields of philosophy and artistic creation, and their direct service to people and the sacrifice of their individual achievements are the moral deed, a rather rare phenomenon in the history of culture. It clearly shows the coherence of declared principles and real behaviour.
