Summary / Abstract:

ENThis article describes the state of the Lithuanian language during the First Independence period. As language is closely linked with the material and spiritual life of the nation, not only language changes appropriate after the restoration of Independence, but also Lithuanian economical and social status before/after declaration of the Independent State have been discussed in this article.
