Summary / Abstract:

ENSlope stability of Gediminas hill was evaluated using mathematical models. The eastern and western slopes were evaluated. Archive data of engineering geological survey reports was collected to perform such tasks. Geo technical models of slope stability were created using this archive data. After calculation procedures it was identi fied that slopes are not enough stabile. They are vulner able to processes of slope stability failure. Especially stability decreases during rise of groundwater level. The evaluation of slope stability shows that it is necessary to improve slope stability, perform additional geotechnical investigations. The design of slope stability improvement should be evaluated using modern methods of slope sta bility evaluation. It is necessary to evaluate the state of existing reinforcements. Also it is very important to secure surface water abstraction because if the drainage system does not perform well the soils can soak up and become much heavier and cause formation of landslides. Inopera tive drainage can influence occurrence of the other geo logical processes such as suffusion or wash-out.
