ENThe article offers historical and geographical investigation, which devoted to Dmitrovec. It was the Grand Duchy of Lithuania frontier town and played important role in the system of Duchy’s strategic defense. Repeatedly the town was an object of the struggle at the time of Moscow-Lithuanian wars, information about it was reflected in the written and mapping sources. The changing of borders at the beginning of the 16th century led to loss by Dmitrovec its strategic importance and to little by little decline of town.
