Žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai Joniškio mieste

LT2005 m. rugsėjo-spalio mėnesiais Joniškio mieste, Mažojoje gatvėje vykdyti archeologiniai žvalgomieji tyrinėjimai penkiose vandentiekio ir kanalizacijos trasų vietose. Jos yra centrinėje miesto dalyje, į V nuo miesto aikštės. Bendras tirtų trasų ilgis - apie 115 m, plotis - nuo 0,70 iki 1 m, projektinis gylis - nuo 1,1 iki 1,6 m. Žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrimaivykdyti keliais etapais. Pirmiausia tirti šurfai suprojektuotų trasų vietose. Taip nustatyti atskirų laikotarpių kultūrinio sluoksnio horizontai. Vėliau viršutinis griuvenų sluoksnis (apie 50-70 cm storio) nuimtas mechanizuotai, o po juo esantis archeologinis sluoksnis tirtas. Trasų vietose ištirta 11 šurfų. Dauguma jų buvo 1 x 1 m dydžio. Iš viso ištirtų šurfų plotas sudaro 12,43 m². Bendras ištirtų trasų plotas - 108 m² [p. 240-241].

ENIn 2005 in the Mažoji Str. of the city of Joniškis archaeological surveys of 5 water and sewage pipe-routes were performed. The routes were located in the central part of the city, W from the city square. 11 test pits were excavated on the paths of the routes; most of them with the dimensions of 1 x 1 m. The total area of the test pits excavated made 12.43 m². The total area of the routes investigated made 108 m². According to the finds and stratigraphic data two cultural level horizons were identifiable in the routes. The first horizon was presented by the recent destruction layer dating to the 20th century. The second archaeologically valuable cultural layer horizon established in all of the routes starting at the depth of 60-100 cm from the present ground level dated to the late 16th 19th century.
