Iš neišsemiamos kartybių taurės
LTRecenzijoje analizuojamas Petro Venclovo romanas „Kartybių taurė - iki dugno". Pažymima, kad kūrinys skirtas vienam tragiškiausių Lietuvos istorijos laikotarpių - pokario partizaninei kovai. Teigiama, kad romano pavadinimo prasmė adekvati pasirinktai temai, knygos autorius siekia kiek galima objektyviau nušviesti vaizduojamą istorinį laiką, parodyti žmonių likimus malančias jo girnas. Recenzento nuomone, prozininko meistrystę liudija tvirtai suręsta romano kompozicija, dramatiškos istorijos fabulą paverčianti įtemptu stipraus veiksmo siužetu, plastiško buitinio vaizdo papildymas politinėmis bei ideologinėmis refleksijomis, ribinių situacijų aštrumas sušvelninamas lyriniais atodūsiais, net komiškomis scenomis, o taip pat į atmintį stringančios išraiškingos detalės, gyvos šiaurės aukštaičių tarmės inkrustacijos. Tačiau recenzentas pastebi, kad stilistinis autoriaus džiazavimas trukdo jam kiek dėmesingiau stabtelėti tose romano vietose, kurios tikrai būtų sustiprinusios jo epinį skambėjimą. Pirmiausia tai pasakytina apie romano veikėjų ansamblį. Nutapęs keletą ryškesnių charakterių, likusiems trylikai būrio vyrų autorius vis dėlto pagailėjo individualesnių charakterio bruožų ar bent kokių įsimintinų biografijos detalių. Konstatuojama, kad nepaisant kai kurių diskutuotinų stiliaus momentų, P. Venclovo romaną galima vertinti ne tik kaip kūrinį, reikšmingai praturtinusį jo kūrybinę biografiją, bet ir kaip ryškias gaires lietuvių literatūros tragiškosios tematikos lauke nužymintį romaną.
ENThe review analyses the novel “Kartybių taurė – iki dugno” [A Glass of Bitterness in One Gulp] by Petras Venclova. It should be noted that the work is dedicated to one of the most tragic periods in Lithuania’s history, i.e. post-war partisan fights. The meaning of the title of the novel is said to be adequate to the chosen theme; the author aims to as objectively as possible describe the historical period and show its millstone grinding the fates of people. According to the reviewer, the prosaist’s mastery is testified by a firm composition of the novel, which transforms the plot of the dramatic history into a tense action story, complementing a plastic everyday picture with political and ideological reflections, mitigating the sharpness of extreme situations with lyrical sighs and even comic scenes, and memorable expressive details, live incrustations of North Highland dialect. However, the reviewer notes that the stylistic jazzing of the author prevents him from more carefully stopping in those places of the novel which would have really strengthened its epic sound. This could be primarily said about the ensemble of the characters of the novel. Some of them are more prominent, whereas the remaining thirteen men of the squad lack more individual character traits or at least some memorable biographical details. Despite certain debatable moments of style, Venclova’s novel could be evaluated not only as a work that significantly enriched his creative biography, but also as a novel that puts evident landmarks in the field of the tragic theme of Lithuanian literature.
