ENThe paper introduces the creative parallels of Jan Kasprowicz, a famous poet of the Young Poland, and Lithuanian writer Józef Albin Herbaczewski. J . A. Herbaczewski was the only Lithuanian poet who was influenced by Jan Kasprowicz's creative work; however, it has not been widely known in Lithuania yet. J . A. Herbaczewski matured as a writer in Cracow where he took over the ideas of the Young Poland movement and became acquainted with one of the leaders of the movement, Jan Kasprowicz's, creative work, which impressed him a great deal. Even the first J . A. Herbaczewski's writings expose similarities with the J . Kasprowicz's work. Three main creative parallels may be distinguished in their work; the first is the shared attitude to God, the world and human being, and also the Promethean Rebel motive. The second parallel is the theme of Salome, whereas a great deal of similarities may also be found in the writers' prose. This paper not only presents the creative parallels of the both writers, but also reveals J . Kasprowicz's influence on the work of J . A. Herbaczewski. [From the publication]
