Veidrodis Juditos Vaičiūnaitės kūryboje

Apžvelgus asociatyvinius kontekstus, galima apibendrinti, kad veidrodis patenka į itin svarbius prasminius centrus ir juos kuria. ENA mirror is a mysterious, magic, and mystic object, which has accumulated a lot of historical and cultural meanings. The analysis of this motif in particular author’s creative work enables highlighting the contours of poetic world, often complicated and unexpected, therefore, a mirror is searched for throughout the entire Judita Vaičiūnaitė’s creative work. The review covered the selected verses “Klajoklė saulė” [Vagabond Sun] and “Nemigos aitvaras”[Insomnia Kite], as well as essayistic book “Vaikystės veidrody” [In the Mirror of Childhood], which determined the conception of the article. It should be noted that the mirror’s motif is not available in the first book of the poet. It appears later, when the poetic world becomes more sophisticated and complicated. Then this figure becomes frequent and diverse: a mirror – round, oval, or square; a mirror with “black lacquer frame” or set in a frame of blooming wreath of Vilnius cherry trees; a mirror – smoky, sooty, or reflecting sun or light, or cracked... River and lake water or other reflecting surfaces serve as a mirror. Figurative connections and contexts of a mirror show up in the entire creative work, creating a distinctive and interesting field of meanings. There are three important aspects. The first aspect is related to a woman’s world; other two dramatize the visualism of poetic world. Following the review of associative contexts it could be summarized that a mirror gets into substantial notional centers and creates them. Having become the storage of the pictures of the past, it nuances a substantial topic of time lost and by its reflecting power enables modeling the space. When coming to a woman’s world, it helps her searching for her own identity.
