ENIn our modern society it is highly increasing the amount of big weight having people (including teenagers), who in various ways try to reach the ideal body, shape and exterior. The aim of this research was to investigate such psychological features as self-esteem and sense of coherence of girls who have different weight. M. Rosenberg (1965) Self-Esteem Scale (RSE) and A. Antonovsky (1987) Sense of Coherence Scale (SOC) was used as evaluational tools. After testing 142 girls of the age 17-21 the partition were made into 3 groups according to the weight they though having at the moment of testing. The results were counted by using x2 (Square Chi) and ANOVA statistics methods. The received results showed that self-esteem of girls with big weight was significantly lower (p=0.001) compared to self-esteem of girls with normal or small weight. The sense of coherence of normal weight having girls was stronger (p=0.001) than of girls who had small or big weight.
