Aldona Gaigalaitė. Lietuvos atstovai Rusijos Valstybės dūmoje 1906-1917 m

LTRecenzijoje aptariama Aldonos Gaigalaitės knyga „Lietuvos atstovai Rusijos Valstybės dūmoje 1906-1917 m.“ Monografijoje pateikti duomenis apie visus Kauno, Suvalkų, Vilniaus ir Gardino gubernijoms atstovavusius deputatus – lietuvių, lenkų, baltarusių, žydų ir rusų biografijas, veiklą, pasisakymus Valstybės dūmos posėdžiuose. Tai naujas požiūris mūsų istoriografijoje, nes iki šiol iš esmės domėtasi vien lietuvių atstovų veikla. Knyga labai informatyvi, be to, iliustruota visų atstovų fotografijomis; jos pabaigoje pateikiama lentelė su svarbiausiais biografiniais duomenimis. Knygos autorė sėkmingai susidorojo su pagrindiniu, pirminiu Dūmos darbo istorijos šaltiniu – daugiatomėmis stenogramomis. Ji pateikia Lietuvai atstovavusių deputatų kalbų Dūmos posėdžiuose santraukas, taip parodydama aktyviausius politikus, aktualiausias to laikotarpio problemas ir jų sprendimo būdus. Nenutylimi ir kitų regionų atstovų pasisakymai bei politinė orientacija. Kiti šaltiniai leido autorei patyrinėti 1906-1917 m. Lietuvos visuomenės socialinį bei politinį aktyvumą: pristatomi rinkėjų priesakai deputatams, gyventojų reikalavimai; analizuojami Dūmos atstovų ryšiai su krašto žmonėmis. A. Gaigalaitės tyrimas atskleidžia svarbiausius Lietuvos ir visos Rusijos imperijos visuomenės lūkesčius, politinių jėgų konsteliaciją ir parlamentarizmo raidą 1906–1917 m., jis padės istorikams susiorientuoti nepaprastai plačioje Dūmos veiklos problematikoje bei šaltiniuose, skaitytojus sudomins nauja mūsų istorijos tema.

ENThe review discusses the book “Lietuvos atstovai Rusijos Valstybės dūmoje 1906–1917 m.” [Lithuanian Representatives in the Russian State Duma in 1906–1917] by Aldona Gaigalaitė. The monograph presents data about all deputies who represented the guberniyas of Kaunas, Suwałki, Vilnius and Grodno: the biographies and activities of Lithuanians, Poles, Belarusians, Jews and Russians, and their speeches in the sittings of the Sate Duma. This is a new approach in our historiography, because so far only the activities of Lithuanian representatives have been explored. The book is very informative; it is illustrated with the photographs of all representatives, and presents a table with the key biographical data. The author of the book has successfully coped with the principal and primary source of the history of Duma’s functioning, i.e. voluminous stenographs. She presents summaries of speeches delivered in Duma sittings by deputies who represented Lithuania, thus showing the most active politicians, the most relevant problems of that period and ways to solve them. Outgivings and the political orientation of representatives from other regions are also mentioned. Other sources enabled investigating the social and political activeness of Lithuanian society in 1906–1917: the author presents the mandates of the electorate to deputies and residents’ requirements and analyses the relations between Duma representatives and the locals. The study of Gaigalaitė reveals the most important expectations of Lithuanian and Russian society, the constellation of political forces and the development of parliamentarism in 1906–1917; it will help historians to orientate in a wide range of issues related to Duma activities as well as sources and will attract readers with a new topic in our history.
