ENThe situation of humanities in post-soviet Lithuania originates from the dominance of natural sciences in soviet time. Natural sciences are preferred, humanities, however, are considered as second-range disciplines. The heritage of such consideration is that in the post-soviet Lithuania by the evaluation of results the specificity of humanities is still ignored and the activities of humanitarians are estimated according to the criteria of natural sciences. It creates however favorable climate for the development of humanities.
