Vakarų baltai: etnogenezė ir etninė istorija

LTLeidinį „Vakarų baltai: etnogenezė ir etninė istorija“ sudaro 24 straipsniai, skaityti 1991 m. vykusioje konferencijoje Palangoje, skirtoje baltų genezės problemai. ENThe publication “Vakarų baltai: etnogenezė ir etninė istorija” [Western Balts: Ethnogenesis and Ethnic History] consists of 24 articles presented in the 1991 conference on the Baltic genesis problem in Palanga. The articles focus on various topics: evaluation of the influence of Corded Ware Culture on local Baltic Neolithic cultures; discussion when the Baltic archaeological cultures of one period could be started to be divided into Eastern and Western; raising the issue of Samogitian ethnogenesis; discussion of Western Baltic cultural area of the Roman period, which is typically pointed out as a separate flat burial ground of the lower reaches of the River Nemunas; examination of the transformation of archaeological culture in Sambian Peninsula at the end of the Roman period; revealing Western Baltic relations with other cultures; systematisation of the development of the burial customs at the Dnieper, Nemunas, Daugava and Pregola basins; discussion of the features of pottery found in Western Baltic barrows and Milograd culture; revealing Yotvingian and Slavic ethnical-cultural relations; showing Curonian-Livonian relations; systematisation of the data about Eastern Baltic nations or tribes mentioned in Henry’s Chronicle; solving the puzzle of Lamata land; examination in which languages and in which forms Eastern Baltic tribes are named; discussion of Baltic ornament technologies in the Middle-Late Iron Age; presentation of maps of the spread of ethnic instruments; conducting the dental analysis of Baltic origin; examination of the forms of rectangular spinning wheel attachments and their spread in Lithuania; cartographing the features of certain youth leisure forms in Lithuania; and finally, discussion of the aspects of calendar customs.
