Romantizmai be romantizmo

LTTai yra straipsnių rinktinės „Romantizmai po Romantizmo“ (sudarė R. Jankevičiūtė, Vilnius: Kultūros ir meno institutas, 2001) recenzija. Rinktinė parengta Kultūros ir meno institute 2000 metų gegužės 25–26 dienomis vykusios konferencijos „Romantizmai po romantizmo“ pranešimų pagrindu. Skirtingas konferencijos pranešimų mokslinis lygis atsispindi ir rinktinės straipsniuose. Konferencijoje buvo aprėptos vos ne visos kultūrinio gyvenimo formos: literatūra, dailė, architektūra, muzika, istorija, teatras... Literatūrai skirti net keli pranešimai: A. Jurgutienės, A. Mykolaitytės, P. Subačiaus, R. Tūtlytės, P. Veljatagos, G. Viliūno. „Romantizmas po romantizmo“ rodo, kad esmę mes vis dar linkstame sieti su išorinėmis apraiškomis, kurių panašumą laikome iš esmės tapatumu. Išorinį panašumą imituotojas sukuria atkartodamas stilių, tematiką, herojaus tipą ir panašiai; toks išorinis panašumas savo subtiliais atspalviais skaidosi į Rytų ir Vidurio, netgi prancūzų ar anglų romantizmą, tačiau toks panašumas dar neužtikrina esmės tapatumo. Su viena išlyga – jeigu išorės nelaikysime esme. Atėjo į Europą nauji laikai, ir lietuvis tapo romantikas, neatsižvelgiant į tai, ar jo dvasia buvo pasirengusi „išdegti“ tokią kultūrinės raiškos formą. O jeigu tapome romantikais, dabar nebelieka nieko kito kaip tik įrodyti, kad savo kūrinių motyvus ir stilistiką mes sėkmingai pasiskolinome iš kitų tautų ir iš jų pasisiuvome europietišką drabužį. „Romantizmai po romantizmo“ šią patriotinę nuostatą dar sykį patvirtina ir įtvirtina.

ENThe review concerns the collection of articles “Romantizmai po Romantizmo” [Romanticisms after Romanticism] (compiled by R. Jankevičiūtė, Vilnius: The Institute of Culture and Art, 2001). The collection has been compiled on the basis of the paper of the conference “Romanticisms after Romanticism” which was held at the Institute of Culture and Art on 25–26 May 2000. A different scientific level of conference papers is also reflected in the articles of the collection. The conference covered almost all forms of cultural life: literature, fine arts, architecture, music, history, theatre. Several papers focus on literature: by A. Jurgutienė, A. Mykolaitytė, P. Subačius, R. Tūtlytė, P. Veljataga, G. Viliūnas. “Romanticisms after Romanticism” shows that we still tend to relate the essence to external manifestations, the similarity whereof we consider to be basically identity. The imitator creates external similarity by repeating the style, theme, the type of the hero, etc.; this external similarity could be distinguished into Eastern and Central Romanticism, or even French and English Romanticism, by its subtle nuances, yet this similarity does not ensure the identity of the essence. With one reservation – if we don’t consider the exterior to be the essence. New period has come to Europe, and Lithuanians turned to romanticists, regardless of whether their spirit was ready to anneal this form of cultural expression. Once we turned into romanticists, we must prove that we have successfully borrowed the motifs and stylistics of our works from other nations and made a European outfit from them. “Romanticism after Romanticism” again confirms and establishes this patriotic attitude.
