Summary / Abstract:

Reikšminiai žodžiai: Atgaila; Fenomenologinis požiūris į ugdymą; Kaltė; Sąžinė; Vertybės; Conscience; Guilt; Phenomenological insight into education; Repentrance; Values.

ENThe paper takes a value approach to analyse the phenomenological insights of conscience, guilt and repentance. Based on the ontological good/bad acts and works, the paper analyses the decisions made by the conscience and reveals the importance of moral, by conveying moral norms that help the conscience to make the right decision. The paper discusses the possibilities of application of E. Husserl’s, M. Heidegger’s, M. Scheler’s and K. Wojtyła’s phenomenological methods in the education process. The education process of a concrete person is revealed through moral values that determine the internal causality of his acts and works. The relationship between subjective experience and objective truth is made concrete through moral experience that is revealed by the phenomenological research of moral powers. Conscience helps a person to realise his actual purpose of existence by evoking the sense of guilt. Experiencing this inside, a person discovers his identity. His sovereignty is expressed through free action, choosing the truth that reveals the person’s identity. Existential guilt is the ontological basis of good/evil. Objectivised good is realised through conscience as dissemination of moral norms and helps to give sense to the idea of justice. This sense-giving takes place by experiencing values and having invoked the ideal formed by mind and education. Repentance eliminates the sense of existential guilt. The phenomenological insight of moral powers of the education process strengthens the personality’s value orientations. Moral values unite people for common action, help to overcome external alienation and expand the limits of mutual interaction.
