Kartka z dziejów obyczajów: pogrzeby dzieci Anny i Krzysztofa Radziwiłłów - lata 1611-1627
LTStraipsnis skirtas papročių istorijai – jame apžvelgiamos Onos ir Kristupo Radvilų vaikų laidotuvės, vykusios 1611-1627 m. Ona buvo ištekinta 13 metų amžiaus, pora susilaukė šešių vaikų: Mikalojaus, Jonušo, Kotrynos, Jurgio, po 6 metų pertraukos – Elžbietos ir Stepono. Iki pilnametystės išgyveno tik du – Jonušas (1612-1655) ir Kotryna (1614-1674), trys sūnūs mirė pirmaisiais gyvenimo metais, viena sulaukusi ketverių. Straipsnyje aptariamos vaikų gimimo ir mirties aplinkybės, laidotuvių organizavimas ir eiga, užuominos apie jas to meto korespondencijoje, tiriami antkapiniai įrašai. Vaikų mirties priežastys nežinomos. Jie buvo palaidoti šeimos kape Vižūnuose, t.y. palaikai būdavo pervežami 100-400 km atstumą, palaidojami prabėgus mėnesiui-pusantro po mirties. Bažnytines apeigas atlikdavo vietos dvasininkai, apie jų eigą išliko mažai žinių. Nors vaikų laidotuves organizavo jų tėvas K. Radvila, jis pats apeigose nedalyvavo, atrodo, jose nebuvo ir motinos. Toks elgesys tuo metu buvo priimtas. K. Radvila prašydavo kurį nors magnatą dalyvauti laidotuvėse jo vardu, užsakydavo laidotuvių prakalbas, kurios būdavo sakomos per apeigas, sukviesdavo laidotuvių dalyvius laiškais. ENThe article is dedicated to the history of customs and provides an overview of the funeral of the children of Anna and Krzysztof Radziwiłł which took place in 1611 – 1627. Anna had an arranged marriage at te age of 13, and the couple had six children: Mikołaj, Janusz, Katarzyna, Jerzy and, after a 6-year interval, Elżbieta and Stefan. Only two of them survived until major age – Janusz (1612 – 1655) and Katarzyna (1614 – 1674); three sons died during their first years of life, and one deceased at the age of four. The article discusses the circumstances of the birth and death of the children, organisation and process of funeral, their mentioning in the correspondence of that time, and epitaphs are studied. The causes of the death of the children are not known. They were buried in the family grave in Vižūnai, i.e. the remains were transported to a 100 – 400 km distance and buried in a month or a month and a half after the death. Ecclesiastical rites were performed by the local clergy, and very limited information about their progress has remained. Although the funerals of the children were organised by their father Krzysztof Radziwiłł, he did not take part in the rites, and neither did their mother. Such behavior was accepted at the time. Krzysztof Radziwiłł asked some magnate to attend the funeral on his behalf, ordered funeral speeches which would be spoken during the ceremonies, and invited funeral participants by letters. Funerals were closed by a dinner for szlachta, which used to be attended by several dozens of people.
