Z językowej historii Wielkiego Księstwa Litewskiego
LTStraipsnyje analizuojami Lietuvos Didžiosios Kunigaikštystės (LDK) vietovardžiai, kalbos bei etniniai procesai nuo seniausių laikų iki Abiejų Tautų Respublikos (ATR) žlugimo, jų samprata dabartinių tų teritorijų gyventojų kolektyvinėje atmintyje. Analizuojama žodžio „Lietuva“, „Litwa“ kilmė ir vartojimas seniausiuose šaltiniuose, baltiškojo arealo ribos pagal toponimus. Aptariama stačiatikiškos kultūros įtaka LDK, paties LKD pavadinimo ir jos herbo rusiška kilmė. Dėl lietuvių valstybės ekspansijos į rusų ir su Lenkija besiribojančias Polesės žemes žodžiai „Lietuva“, „Litwa“ įgavo dvejopą prasmę – 1) lietuvių (baltų) kalbos ir etnoso pavadinimas; 2) visų LDK kalbų ir etninių grupių pavadinimas. Pvz., taip kaimynai vadino Polesės lenkus, Maskvos rusai – visus LDK gyventojus, nežiūrint kalbos ar tikybos; litvakais nuo XIX a. antrosios pusės vadinti žydai, gyvenę buvusios LDK žemėse. Straipsnyje aptariamas lenkų kalbos plitimas LDK, rašytiniuose šaliniuose šia kalba palyginti retai aptinkami regionalizmai. Išskiriama dešimt regionų, kuriuose vartota lenkų kalba, išskiriami su jais susiję rašytiniai paminklai ir kalbos regioniniai ypatumai. Analizuojamas termino „ATR“ atsiradimas ir vartojimas, taip pat pavadinimų „Vilna-Wilno-Vilnius“, upės „Vilnios“ pavadinimų kilmė. ENThe article analyses the toponyms of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania (GDL), lingual and ethnic processes from the most ancient times to the collapse of the Commonwealth of Both Nations (CBN), and their concept in the collective memory of the present inhabitants of those territories. It analyses the origin of the word “Lietuva”/“Litwa” and its use in the oldest sources as well as the boundaries of the Baltic habitat by toponyms. The article discusses the influence of the Orthodox culture on the GDL and the Russian origin of the name of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania itself and its coat of arms. As a result of the expansion of the Lithuanian state to the lands of the Russian and Polesye lands bordering at Poland, the words “Lietuva”/“Litwa” acquired a dual meaning: 1) the name of the Lithuanian (Baltic) language and ethnos; 2) the name of all languages and ethnic groups of the GDL. For example, it is the name which was used for the Polish of Polesye by their neighbours, and by Moscow Russians – for all inhabitants of the GDL, irrespective of their language or religion; from the second half of the nineteenth century, the name of Litvaks was used to call local Jews who lived in the lands of the former GDL. The article discusses the spread of the Polish language in the GDL and the regionalisms which are found relatively rarely in written sources in this language. Ten regions where the Polish language is used are distinguished, and the written evidence and regional peculiarities of the language related to them are distinguished. The article analyses the origin and use of the term “CBN” as well as the origin of the names “Vilna”-“Wilno”-“Vilnius” and the river name “Vilnia”. The reflection of the geographical location of Lithuania in the toponyms of the land in the nineteenth – twentieth centuries is discussed.
