Kelias į Centrą valstiečio sodyboje

LTPublikacijoje, remiantis folkloro duomenimis bei ankstesnių tyrėjų įžvalgomis, nagrinėjama tradicinės lietuvių sodybos ir atskirų jos dalių simbolinė kosmologinė reikšmė. Daroma prielaida, kad mitinėje pasaulėžiūroje sodyba, jos pastatai, sodas ir gėlių darželiai atkartojo mitinio Pasaulio struktūrą. Žemdirbio pasaulį sudarė jo namai ir artimiausia aplinka. Visa kita jau buvo „anapusinio“ pasaulio sfera. Dėl šios priežasties mitologiniame mąstyme sodyba galėjo būti suprantama kaip kultūros sala, analogiška Dievo sukurtai Salai apsuptai gamtos, atitinkančios pirmapradį chaosą. Simboliškai sodybą galima įsivaizduoti kaip susidedančią iš koncentrinių ratų, einančių iki „centrų centro“ – stalo ar ugniakuro. Labiausiai nuo centro nutolusį lygmenį sudarytų dirbamieji laukai, antrąjį – sodai ir ūkiniai pastatai, trečiajam – gyvenamasis namas su gėlių darželiu. Šiame lygmenyje būtų ir simbolinis „Pasaulio stulpas“ – atitinkantis visatos centrą. Atitinkamą mitologinį sodybos vaizdinį, priėjimą prie centro grafiškai geriausiai atvaizduotų apskritimo ir kvadrato derinys. Apskritimas simbolizuotų begalinę erdvę už kaimo, sodybos ribų, o kvadratas rodytų žemdirbio „sutvarkytą“ kultūrinį pasaulį. ENThe publication analyses the cosmological meaning of the traditional Lithuanian homestead and its individual parts based on folklore data and insight of other researchers. Assumption is made that in the mythical world-view, a homestead, its buildings, garden and flower gardens reflected the structure of the mythical World. The world of a farmer consisted of his home and closest environment. Everything else belonged to the outer world. Due to this, in mythological thinking a homestead could be perceived as an island of culture which was a duplicate of the Island created by the God and surrounded by nature which paralleled primeval chaos. Symbolically, a homestead can be envisaged as consisting of concentric circles sharing the same “centre of centres”, i.e. a table or fireplace. The level that is most distant from the centre represents farmland, the second level represents gardens and farm buildings, and the third level represents a residential house and flower garden. This level would be the one to have a symbolic “pillar of the World” which represents the centre of the universe. A combination of circle and square could be the best graphic representation of the mythological construct of a homestead and access to the centre. The circle would represent the infinity beyond a village or a homestead while the square would represent an “organised” cultural world. Such symbolic scheme of the Lithuanian steading would be close to the Eastern mandalas embodying a connection between micro and macro cosmos. The article also discusses symbolic transitions or transformations which were ritually related to certain places or buildings of a homestead and endured safe and successful transition from one mythical space or place to another.
