(In)visible politics: towards the notion of tactical directing

LTStraipsnyje analizuojami politinio angažuotumo aspektai šiuolaikiniame teatre. Jeigu totalitarinėje visuomenėje kritinio ar politiškai angažuoto teatro funkcija buvo aiškiai apibrėžta - demonstruoti socialines ar politines alternatyvas, provokuoti sociopolitinę kaitą, steigti bendruomenę, tai šiuolaikinėje demokratinėje sanklodoje teatras sunkiai mezga santykius su pakitusia realybe ar formuoja kritinę poziciją vartotojų visuomenės atžvilgiu. Straipsnyje apibrėžiama nauja taktinės režisūros samprata - tai viena iš strategijų, kuria remdamasis šiuolaikinis teatras gali sėkmingai veikti politiniame lauke. Ši samprata formuojama pasitelkus prancūzų filosofo ir semiotiko Michelio de Certeau knygoje „Kasdieninio gyvenimo praktikos“ suformuluota taktikos sąvoka. Taikant strategijos ir taktikos sampratas, apibrėžiančias du skirtingus žinojimo (mąstymo) tipus (juos galima tapatinti su modernia ir postmodernia pasaulėžiūra), straipsnyje bandoma apibrėžti šiuolaikiniame teatre vyraujančius režisūrinės vaizduotės tipus ir režisūros būdus, analizuojami taktinės režisūros pavyzdžiai šiuolaikiniame Lietuvos ir Estijos teatre.

ENThe article analyses aspects of political engagement in contemporary theatre. The function of critically or politically engaged theatre in a totalitarian society was clearly defined, i.e. to demonstrate social or political alternatives, to provoke social and political changes, to establish communities. Modern democratic society makes it difficult for theatre to establish contacts with the changes reality, and it forms a critical position with regard to consumer society. The article defines the new concept of tactical direction. It is one of strategies, on the basis of which modern theatre can successfully operate in the political context. This concept is established by using the concept of tactics elaborated by a French philosopher Michelio de Certeau in his book “The Practice of Everyday Life”. By applying concepts of strategy and tactics, which define two different types of knowing (thinking) (they can be identified with modern and post-modern worldviews), the article endeavours to define types of directorial imagination and methods prevailing in the modern theatre and to analyse examples of tactical direction, for example, in modern theatre of Latvia and Estonia.
