LTR. Janeliausko monografija papildo M. K. Čiurlionio kūrybos tyrimų aruodą. Knygą sudaro dvi dalys: teorinė ir analitinė. Teorinė dalis perskirta į dar dvi dalis, iš kurių pirmoji plėtoja teorinę neatpažintų ciklų koncepciją, o antroji siejama su Čiurlionio ciklų teorija. Tyrinėdamas teorinius ir istorinius ciklo ir cikliškumo aspektus, autorius bando aprėpti didžiulę kompozicinės praktikos sankaupą. Monografijoje nemažai dėmesio skiriama savaiminio ciklo sampratai suformuoti. Taikydamas originalią metodologiją, autorius atranda 16 neatpažintų kompozitoriaus muzikos ciklų. Jie siejami su spontanine kompozitoriaus kūrybinio proceso prigimtimi. Tyrinėjant ciklų struktūriškumą, vartojama binarinio tonalumo sąvoka, kuri leidžia autentiškiau suprasti ir interpretuoti kompozitoriaus ciklų sinkretinius darinius. Autorius tipizuoja binarinio tonalumo atvejus, padedančius išskaidrinti kompozitoriaus amato evoliuciją. Pasak jo, ciklų pavadinimų stoka galėtų būti kompensuojama kūrinių datų ir jų sukūrimo vietos pažymėjimu. Nemažai triūso įdėta identifikuojant kompozitoriaus ciklų struktūras. Antroji monografijos dalis skirta atskirų neatpažintų M. K. Čiurlionio muzikos ciklų analizei. Kiekvieną ciklą autorius aptaria keliais aspektais. Pirmiausia tyrinėjama, kaip konkretaus ciklo kūriniai atsispindi J. Čiurlionytės ir V. Landsbergio M. K. Čiurlionio kūrinių rinktinėse, vėliau atskleidžiami ciklo prognozavimo ypatumai, tyrinėjama ciklo struktūra ir intencionalumo dalykai, pagaliau įvardijama kompozicija. Medžiagą autorius iliustruoja gausiais natų pavyzdžiais, akivaizdžiomis schemomis.

ENThe monograph by R. Janeliauskas contributes to the research of the creation of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. The book consists of two parts: theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part is divided into two sections, the first of which develops the theoretical conception of unrecognised cycles, and the second one is related to the Čiurlionis cycle theory. Exploring the theoretical and historical aspects of the cycle and the cyclic character, the author attempts to cover a large pool of compositional practice. The monograph pays considerable attention to the formation of the concept of spontaneous cycle. Applying original methodology, the author discovers 16 unrecognised musical cycles. They are related to the spontaneous nature of the composer’s creative process. The analysis of the cycle structure uses the concept of binary tonality which enables a more authentic understanding and interpretation of the syncretic formations of cycles. The author epitomises the cases of binary tonality which help to clarify the composer’s craft evolution. According to him, the absence of cycle titles could be compensated by the marking of dates of pieces and place of their composition. The second part of the monograph is focused on the analysis of individual unrecognised musical cycles of Čiurlionis. The author discusses every cycle from several aspects. The author firstly examines how the pieces of a concrete cycle are reflected in the compilations of Čiurlionis compositions by J. Čiurlionytė and V. Landsbergis, and later reveals the peculiarities of cycle prognosis, explores the cycle structure and intentionality as well as names the composition. The author illustrates the material by abundant examples of sheets and obvious schemes.
