Liublinas 1569 - Briuselis 2009: (vakarietiškos Vakarų tapatybės klausimas)

LT1569–ųjų Europa – tai ne tik XVI a. septintojo dešimtmečio pabaigos Europa, bet ir Europa, kuri Renesanso keliais žingsniavo ankstyvųjų naujųjų laikų epocha. 2009–ųjų Europos taip pat neįmanoma išplėšti iš praėjusio XX a. realijų. Epocha, pasibaigusi XX a., įvardijama gerai žinomu „naujųjų laikų“ pavadinimu, tačiau realijos, užpildančios šio amžiaus laikovaizdį, dar nesulaukė tokio turiningo įvardijimo, koks yra „renesanso“ pavadinimas. Negana to, XX a. žmonių sąmonė yra atotrūkio sąmonė. Kaip tik tuo aiškiausiai skiriasi istorinė akimirka, kuriai priskiriami 1569–ieji, nuo 2009–ųjų istorinio momento. Mat 1569 m., eidami į savo ateitį, europiečiai, norėdami „grįžti“, daugmaž žinojo, kur turi patekti. O štai 2009 m. tokio žinojimo suteikti jiems negali nei tai, kad nėra vilties, jog įmanoma „grįžti“, nei vilties, kad įmanomas atotrūkis. Todėl ir istorinė termino „Briuselis 2009“ simbolika, palyginti su termino „Liublinas 1569“ simbolika, išsiskiria gana dideliu neapibrėžtumu. Būtent kai kurios realijos, glūdinčios termino „Briuselis 2009“ simbolikoje, atkreipia dėmesį į du faktus, kuriuose atsiskleidė Respublikos originalus išradingumas ir kuriuos simboliškai išreiškia terminas „Liublinas 1569“. Pirmas faktas – tai visiškas Valstybės vizijos natūralizmas. Antrasis faktas – tai senųjų lenkų Valstybės sampratos politinis integralumas. Galima sakyti, kad Respublikos įpėdiniai – termino „Briuselis 2009“ simbolikos apibrėžtomis realijomis – dalyvauja lošime dėl vakarietiško Vakarų tapatumo taip, kaip analogiškose „Liublino 1569“ realijose dalyvavo jų Protėviai.Reikšminiai žodžiai: Briuselis; Europietiška tapatybė; Liublinas; Vakarietiškoji tapatybė; Brussels; European identity; Lublin; Western Identity.

ENEurope of 1569 was not just the Europe of the end of the 1560s - it was also a Europe which marched along the epoch of the early modern period on the roads of the Renaissance. Europe of 2009 is also impossible detach from the realities of the 20th c. The epoch which ended in the 20th c. is popularly referred to as the "modern era", though the realities which completed the picture of this time have not yet been given a name as meaningful as that of the Renaissance. Moreover, human consciousness in the 20th c. is that of a breaking off. It is precisely by this that the historical moment which 1569 is attributed to most clearly differs from the historical moment of 2009. For in 1569, Europeans, moving towards their future and wanting to "return", more or less knew where they had to go. Yet in 2009, such knowledge cannot be given to them by the fact that there is no hope that it is possible to "return", nor that a break is possible. Therefore, the historical symbolism of the term "Brussels 2009", in comparison with the symbolism of the term "Lublin 1569", stands out for its considerable vagueness. It is namely certain realities concealed within the symbolism of the term "Brussels 2009" that draw attention to two facts in which the original inventiveness of the Republic were revealed and which are symbolically expressed by the term "Lublin 1569". The first fact is the complete naturalism of the vision of the State. The second fact is the political integrity of the old Poles’ concept of the state. One could say that the heirs of the Republic - in the realities defined by the symbolism of the term "Brussels 2009" - are participating in a gamble for the western identity of the West just as their ancestors participated in the analogous realities of "Lublin 1569".
