LTŽinomo Baltarusijos istoriko Eugenijaus Aniščenkos monografijoje analizuojamas LDK inkorporavimo į Rusijos imperijos sudėtį procesas. Tyrimas paremtais gausiais archyviniais šaltiniais, tačiau problemos formulavimas, tyrimo objekto apibūdinimas, temos geografija ir darbo metodikos klausimai yra diskutuotini. Šie dalykai aptariami knygos recenzijoje. Recenzijoje pastebima, kad laikantis sovietinėje istoriografijoje įtvirtinto principo praeities įvykius bei procesus analizuoti konkrečios respublikos ribose, autorius tyrimo objektą apibrėžia šiandieninės Baltarusijos sienomis, eliminuodamas bemaž pusę to meto valstybės teritorijos. Toks pasirinkimas sukelia pagrįstų abejonių dėl to, ar apskritai įmanu tirti inkorporavimą kaip procesą, jei analizuojama tik dalis objekto? LDK sutapatinant su Baltarusijos ir baltarusių tautos istorija toliau plėtojama baltarusiškojo centrizmo koncepcija. Argumentacija, kuria grindžiamas termino „Lietuvos provincija“ vartojimas, neatitinka šio termino vartojimo XVIII a. retorikoje ir raštijoje tendencijų. Terminas „provincija“ XVIII a. antroje pusėje daugiau vartotas ne valstybingumo, o teritorijos prasme. Knygoje pateikta gausi rytinių LDK pavietų seimelių dokumentacija suteikia peno tolesniems bajorijos politinės kultūros bei parlamentarizmo raidos tyrimams, kuriuos papildžius Vilniaus, Trakų vaivadijų bei Žemaitijos kunigaikštystės bajorijos politinės laikysenos studijomis būtų galima išsamiai nušviesti XVIII a. paskutiniojo ketvirčio LDK istoriją. ENThe monograph by a famous Belarusian historian Eugenij Anishtchnko analyses the process of incorporation of the GDL into the composition of the Russian Empire. The investigation is based on abundant archival sources but the formulation of the problem, the characterisation of the subject of investigation, geography of the theme and issues of methodology of work are debatable. The review points out that following the principle established in soviet historiography to analyse events and processes of the past within the limits of a specific republic, the author limits the subject of investigation to the borders of current Belarus eliminating almost half the then territory. Such a choice raises doubts about whether on the whole it is possible to investigate incorporation as a process if only part of the object is being analysed. Identifying the GDL with the history of Belarus and the Belarusian nation the conception of Belarusian centrism is further developed. Argumentation, which substantiates the use of the term “the province of Lithuania” is not in line with the tendencies of the use of this term in rhetoric and writings of the 18th century. In the second half of the 18th century the term “province” was used more in the sense of statehood than that of a territory. The book presents an abundant documentation of Seimeliai of the eastern districts of the GDL, which is beneficial to further investigations into the development of political culture and parliamentarism upon supplementing of which with the studies of Vilnius and Trakai voivodes it would be possible to elucidate the history of the GDL in the last quarter of the 18th century in great detail.
