Du istorinės didaktikos šaltiniai: Zenonas Ivinskis ir Aleksejus Vaginas

ENThis article deals with the attempt to compare the theoretical attitudes toward the history teaching of two historians: Zenonas Ivinskis and Aleksey Vagin. The eminent Lithuanian historian Zenonas Ivinskis (1908-1971) was not a professional researcher only. He had been a history teacher in teachers' seminary, professor of history at universities. Basically, Professor Pranas Pen- kauskas' lectures on didactic of history formed the basis of Ivinskis' view on this subject. There were also several articles on didactics of history written by young Ivinskis. The problems touched in these articles were those of differentiation in teaching history, the use of visual aids and the selection of teaching materials. The famous Russian (Soviet) history methodologist Aleksey Vagin (1902-1978) was presented another view on the problems of the history teaching. His work „The methodology of the history teaching at the secondary school" has been as a Bible for several generations of the history teachers in the former Soviet Union. Some few conclusions can be drawn after the comparison of two views onto the questions „Why teach history? What history ought to be taught?" These questions hinge on value commitments. For the Soviet view the main goal of history teaching was to develop and foster the communistic consciousness. The history by the Vagin's view is only the tool in the hands of teachers in attainment of the ideological object. The different view was presented in the articles of Ivinskis and him teachers. The history must be the tool in the hand of the student in attainment of him/her objects. They can be very different: political, ethical, social, religious etc. These conclusions should be important for the Lithuanian historians to enable history to regain its lost function.
