Žemės ūkio augalų selekcijos ir sėklininkystės terminų žodynas

LTRecenzijoje apžvelgiamas autorių kolektyvo parengtas „Žemės ūkio augalų selekcijos ir sėklininkystės terminų žodynas“ (2010). Žodyne pateikta apie 3000 dažniausiai vartojamų lietuviškų augalų selekcijos ir sėklininkystės, botanikos ir biotechnologijos, citologijos, genetikos terminų, taip pat kultūrinių maistinių ir pašarinių augalų genčių, rūšių ir Lietuvoje išvestų veislių vardų, jų lietuviški aiškinimai ir angliški bei rusiški atitikmenys. Leidinio vertę didina tai, kad jis yra ne tik verčiamasis, bet ir aiškinamasis žodynas. Leidinys atitinka visus terminų žodynų sandaros reikalavimus. Jį sudaro pagrindinė verčiamoji aiškinamoji dalis ir atskiros lietuvių, anglų ir rusų kalbų terminų rodyklės. Yra pratarmė, sandaros aprašymas, naudotų šaltinių sąrašas. Nors terminų žodynuose dažniausiai teikiami daiktavardžiai ir žodžių junginiai su pagrindiniu daiktavardiniu dėmeniu, šio leidinio rengėjai įdėjo nemažai šiai mokslo sričiai svarbių būdvardžių ir veiksmažodžių. Žodyno rengėjai pasirinko abėcėlinį lizdinį pagrindinės dalies terminų dėstymo būdą. Recenzentei abejonių kelia sinonimų gausa, pasirinkta jų pateikimo tvarka, kvestionuojamas atrodo kai kurių terminų sinonimiškumas. Pasitaiko nemažai sinonimiškai pateiktų ir, matyt, specialistų taip vartojamų tarptautinių terminų. Šalia tarptautinių terminų pasiūlyta jų lietuviškų atitikmenų. Žodyno apibrėžtys gerai nusako sąvokų esmę ir nurodo skiriamuosius požymius, yra aiškios ir kalbiškai taisyklingos, tačiau, recenzentės nuomone, vieną kitą apibrėžtį būtų galima patikslinti.

ENThe review overviews the Dictionary of Terms of Agricultural Plant Breeding and Seed Growing (2010) compiled by a group of authors. The dictionary contains about 3 000 most commonly used Lithuanian terms of plant breeding and seed growing, botany and biotechnology, cytology, genetics, names of the genera and species of cultivated food and fodder plants as well as the varieties bred in Lithuania with Lithuanian definitions and equivalents in English and Russian. The publication is valuable in the fact that it contains both translation and definition. The publication meets all requirements for the structure of terminology dictionaries. It consists of the main part of translation and definition and separate indexes of Lithuanian, English and Russian terms. There is a preface, the description of structure, and the list of used sources. Although terminology dictionaries mainly give nouns and combinations of words with the main nominal component, the compilers of this publication included a lot of adjectives and verbs relevant to this field of science. The compilers chose the alphabetical family mode of organising the terms of the main part. The reviewer has doubts about the abundance of synonyms, the chosen order of their presentation; and synonymy of certain terms seems questionable. There appear many synonymously presented international terms which are apparently used in this form by specialists. Lithuanian equivalents are given along with international terms. The definitions well describe the essence of notions and indicate the distinctive features, are clear and linguistically correct; however, according to the reviewer, some definitions could be specified.
