ENArt understanding in Lithuania was mostly investigated in accordance to poetic and rhetoric. The significant sourse for the theme are noblemen diaries from their foreign journeys. There practical application of art theories is noticed. Notes diaries of M.K.Radvila Našlaitėlis (1549-1616) journey to Jeruzalem 1582-1584 and prince's Vladislovas Vaza journey to Western Europe 1624-1625 (written down by A.S.Radvila, S.Pacas and J.Hagenew) are researched. During the end of the 16th century the noblemen were more interested in architecture and applied arts. At the beginning of the 17th century their art interests became wider. More frequent inspection of painting and sculpture, interests in Italian music, theatre and ballet performances is observed. Parks and fountains were essentially admired. Evaluations expressed by terms were not explained. They characterized form by semblance and structure. The noblemen rarely gave personal critical evoliutions of art objects. Large, luxuriuos palaces were observed with admiration. Noblemen were interested in rare materials used in buildings and art works. Tapestries from the Netherlands, works of goldsmiths' creations by Rubens, Durer Guido Rheni were of special value. Clothes were wide frequently described... Art comprehension of the noblemen was the characteristic for the Renaissance and Baroque.
