Apie originalią nuomonę, nepatogius klausimus ir vertimų problemas

LTRecenzijoje yra atsiliepiama į parašytą straipsnį apie T. Snyderio knygą "Tautų rekonstrukcija“. Nurodoma, kad knygos autorius Lietuvos Didžiajai Kunigaikštystei iki 1795 m. savo monografijoje skiria tik 14 puslapių, o plačiausiai aptaria Ukrainos teritorijų gyventojų ir lenkų santykius. Atkreipiamas dėmesys į tai, kad, nors knygoje yra panaudojami įvairūs šaltiniai, literatūra ir kt., tačiau knyga yra susilaukusi kritikos. Knygos recenzija nėra mokslinė, tačiau ji pažymi tam tikrą naują kryptį publicistinėje istorikų darbų kritikoje. Straipsnio autorius nesutinka su požiūriu, kad T. Snyderio knyga negali būti rimtai traktuojama. Ši knyga pateikia savitą požiūrį į Lietuvos istorijos problemas, analizuoja klausimus, kurių Lietuvos istorikai net nedrįsta gvildenti. Taip pat knygoje išsamiai analizuojamas mums mažai žinomas Lenkijos ir Ukrainos santykis. Atkreipiamas dėmesys, kad T. Snyderio monografija yra objektyvi. Žvelgdamas iš užatlantės perspektyvos, jis pateikia teiginius, kurie parodo objektyvią tiesą, nors ji nėra maloni ir įprasta. T. Snyderis atkreipia mūsų dėmesį į tai, jog Lietuvoje nėra apmąstomas tautų iškeldinimo iš Lenkijos ir trijų vakarinių TSRS respublikų aspektas. Nurodoma, kad paskutinieji T. Snyderio knygos skyriai nėra tokie įdomūs. Juose yra aprašomos mūsų skaitytojams daugiau žinomos temos. Teigiama, jog knygos autorius pervertina Paryžiuje lenkų kalba leisto mėnraščio "Kultūra“ įtaką Lenkijos inteligentijai. Pažymima, kad monografijos sėkmė labai priklauso nuo vertimo. Šiuo atveju vertimas į lietuvių kalbą nėra itin profesionalus.

ENThis review is a response to the article about the book “The Reconstruction of Nations” by T. Snyder. It is indicated that the author of the book devotes 14 pages of his book to the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and most of his attention is focused on relations of Poles and residents of the territories of Ukraine. It is noted that although various sources and literature were used in the book, it has been criticised a lot. The review of the book is not of an academic nature; however, it signifies a certain new direction of the criticism of works of historians. The author of the article does not agree with the opinion that T. Snyder’s book cannot be interpreted seriously. This book provides a peculiar opinion of problems of the history of Lithuanian, analyses questions Lithuanian historians do not dare to analyse. The book also analyses the relations of Poland and Ukraine, which are we know little about. It is also noted that the monograph by T. Snyder is objective. With his from the seas perspective, T. Snyder provides statements which show objective truth, which is not pleasant and conventional. T. Snyder draws our attention to the fact that Lithuanian historians ignore the aspect of the eviction of nations from Poland and other three western republics of the USSR. The review also claims that the last three sections of the book are not as interesting as the previous ones. They describe the theme our readers are familiar with. The reviewer notes that the author of the book overestimates the influence of the monthly "Culture" published in the Polish language in Paris on the inteligencia of Poland. It is also noted in the review that the success of the monograph depends on its translation. In this case, the translation of it into the Lithuanian language is not professional.
