Romų-Zeigių senovės gyvenvietė

LT2003 m. gegužės mėn. buvo pradėti žvalgomieji archeologiniai tyrimai naujai statomoje Romų gyvenvietėje, 6 km į Š nuo Klaipėdos, 1 km nuo viaduko per Kretingos-Klaipėdos geležinkelį, kairėje Klaipėdos-Palangos plento pusėje. Tyrimų metu prie pradėto kasti tvenkinio buvo aptiktos perdegusių akmenų krūsnys ir daug keramikos fragmentų. Šioje vietoje buvo apmatuotas 60 m² plotas. Bendras tyrimų plotas sudaro 178 m² (35 šurfai ir plotas). Naujai rasta Romų-Zeigių senovės gyvenvietė yra išsidėsčiusi dešinėje Cypos upelio pusėje. Šurfuojant teritoriją buvo nustatytos preliminarios senovės gyvenvietės ribos [p. 51].

ENIn 2003 during the archaeological survey explorations in a new-built Romai settlement (Klaipėda district), a new Romai-Zeigiai ancient settlement dated to the beginning of the 1st millennium - the second half of the 1st millennium was found. The settlement was located on the right bank of the Cypa river. Having explored the area of 60 m² in the settlement, 3 hearths, a farm pit, structural remains, 24 postholes, a lot of handmade pottery with rusticated and plain surface were found. While conducting the survey in the area prepared for construction on the left bank of the Cypa river, 2 hearths were found. Their measurements greatly differed from the measurements of the hearths found on the right bank of the river. Also some handmade pottery was detected. It is impossible to say whether it is the same settlement.
