LT2003 m. Šinkūnų piliakalnio V papėdėje buvo ištirti du plotai – 9 ir 10, iš viso 152 m² dydžio plotas bei žvalgyta piliakalnio aplinka [p. 36].
ENAt the western foot of the Šinkūnai hillfort, two areas - 9 and 10 (in total 152 m²) were explored as well as the surroundings of the hillfort were surveyed. During the explorations the cultural layer up to 50 cm thick was detected. Absolute majority of archaeological finds (430 units) were fragments of handmade pots with brushed, rusticated, burnished and plain surface and wheelmade pottery. The archaeological material of 2003 year has not changed the hillfort chronology established by the earlier explorations. People lived in this hill surrounded by swales for 1000 years, i. e. from the first centuries A.D. until the beginning of the 2nd millennium.
