Bartkūnų piliakalnio gyvenvietė

LTBartkūnų piliakalnis su priešpiliu ir gyvenviete (AR 1200K) yra Ukmergės r., 1,5 km į Š nuo Krikštėnų gyvenvietės, apie 700 m i R nuo greitkelio Vilnius-Panevėžys, iš Pį Š nusidriekusio ozo dalyje. Šlaitai statūs, 7-14 m aukščio. Aikštelė 35 m ilgio ŠV-PR kryptimi ir 20 m pločio. Šiaurėje piliakalnis siekia gretimą aukštumą, nuo kurios jį skiria pylimas ir griovys. Piliakalnį 1936 m. žvalgė ir tyrinėjo P. Tarasenka [p. 34].

ENIn 2003 in the territory of the Bartkūnai hillfort settlement, in the area of approximately 3 ha, eastwards from the hill-fort, 82 test pits of 1 x 1 m and 2 x 2 m were explored. The total area explored was 88 m². The cultural layer of the hill-fort settlement of 10-30 cm thick was detected only in the western part of the surveyed territory, approximately in the 300 x 30 m area alongside the irrigation channel (a former stream) eastwards from it. During the explorations, sherds of handmade pottery with brushed, rusticated and plain surface, fragments of iron smelting slag, dross and burnt clay daub were found. According to the archaeological material, the Bartkūnai hill-fort settlement is dated to the middle and the second part of the 1st millennium A.D.
