Summary / Abstract:

LTStraipsnyje tyrinėjami S. Daukanto, J. Pabrėžos, A. Baranausko ir A. Vienažindžio literatūros ir kultūros tekstai iš naratyviosios asmens tapatybės perspektyvos. Remiamasi prielaida, jog asmens tapatybė nėra artikuliuota duotis. Ji pasirodo tik interpretaciniame pasakojime. Naratyvioji asmens tapatybės samprata aptariama hermeneutikos (P. Ricouero darbai) ir naujojo / naratologinio istorizmo (H. White‘as, St. Greeblattas) akiratyje, taip pat remiamasi V. Kavolio kultūros istorijos darbais. XIX a. pr. naratyvioji asmens tapatybė ryški S. Daukanto istoriografijos įžangose, pagrįstose antikine retorine istoriografijos tradicija. S. Daukanto pasakotojo tapatybė neatsiejama nuo idealaus gentinės bendruomenės vaizdinio, kurį apibrėžia klasikiniai dorybės ir garbės įvaizdžiai, nemirtingumo siekis, artimas graikiškajai didybės sampratai. J. Pabrėžos lietuviškosios poezijos pavyzdys parodo, jog XIX a. pradžioje būtent katalikiškoji žiūra į pasaulį atskleidžia individualią savivoką, kai esmingiausia vertybe tampa autentiška žmogaus egzistencija Dievo ir mirties akivaizdoje. XIX a. viduryje M. Valančiaus ir A. Baranausko kūryboje pasakotojo tapatybė, susijusi su katalikiškąja bendruomene, grindžiama Dievo autoritetu, katalikiškojo tikėjimo praktika, kuri įprasmina bažnytinės moralinės kultūros saugą. XIX a. vidurio lietuviakalbės poezijos kontekste išskirtina išpažintinė A. Vienažindžio kūryba.

ENThis article analyses the literary and cultural texts of S. Daukantas, J. Pabrėža, A. Baranauskas and A. Vienažindis from the perspective of the identity of the narrator. The article operates on the premise that the narrator’s identity is not an articulated given. It emerges only from texts with interpretative narrative. The article discusses the concept of the narrator’s identity in the context of the hermeneutics of P. Ricoeur and the new narratological historicism of H. White and S. Greenblatt; likewise the cultural history works of V. Kavolis. The early 19th century character of the narrator of S. Daukantas works is evident in his historiographical introductions, which are based on the ancient rhetorical historiographic tradition. S. Daukantas’ narrator’s identity is inseparable from the ideal clan image thereof, which is defined by classical images of decency and honour and the quest for immortality, which is close to the Greek understanding of greatness. The example of J. Pabrėža’s Lithuanian poetry shows that at the beginning of the 19th century, it is precisely the Catholic world view that opens up the concept of individuality, in which the most essential value is authentic human existence in the face of God and impending death. In the mid 19th century, the identity of the narrator in the works of M. Valančius and A. Baranauskas is connected with the Catholic community, based on God’s authority and the practices of the Catholic religion, which render meaningful the churches guardianship of moral culture. In the context of Lithuanian poetry of the mid 19th century, the fervent works of A. Vienažindis are exceptional. The romantic character of the alter ego in the poetry of A. Vienažindis is linked to the power of Art, which becomes clear in intense moments of experience through the dialogue with the Other, and through aesthetic or religious experiences.
