LTAutorius aptaria „Vidurio ir Rytų Europos šalių politinių ir socialinių sąvokų žodyno“ („Dictionnaire des nations politiques et sociales des pays d'Europe centrale et orientale“) rengimo aplinkybes ir paaiškina, kokios reikšmės turės ne tik leidinys, bet ypač žodyno rengimas, kuris buvo inicijuotas 2001 m. bendradarbiaujant mokslininkų grupėms iš Nancy (Prancūzija) bei Varšuvos (Lenkija) universitetų. Darbus koordinuoja prancūzas prof. Henri Henri Claude Grégoire ir lenkas prof. Stanisławas Dubiszas. Rengti žodyną padeda kalbininkai (polonistai, slavistai, baltistai, vengrų filologijos specialistai) ir politologai. Be Lenkijos mokslininkų, grupėje dirba tyrinėtojai iš Ukrainos, Lietuvos, Čekijos, Slovakijos ir Vengrijos bei pietų slavų šalių. Žodyno turinys leidžia apibrėžti Vidurio ir Rytų Europos visuomenių kalbinio pasaulio vaizdo pagrindus. Atlikti darbai rodo, kad žodynas atskleidžia jo platų tiriamąjį kontekstą ir atgaivina ištisą tarpkultūrinių ir tarpdisciplininių studijų kryptį, tapdamas vienu iš šiuo metu Europoje vykstančių integracinių procesų veiksnių. Žodynas skiriamas plačiai vartotojų auditorijai. ENThe author discusses circumstances of compiling the Dictionary of Political and Social Concepts of Central and Eastern European Countries (Dictionnaire des nations politiques et sociales des pays d'Europe centrale et orientale) and explains the importance of not only the publication but particularly of the compilation of the dictionary initiated in 2001 in the process of cooperation between groups of scholars from universities from Nancy (France) and Warsaw (Poland). The works are coordinated by the French professor Henri Claude Grégoire and the Polish professor Stanisław Dubisz. The dictionary is compiled with the help of linguists (specialising in Polish, Slavic, Baltic and Hungarian linguistic studies) and political scientists. Apart from Polish scholars, the group includes researchers from Ukraine, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary and southern Slavic countries. The content of the dictionary allows defining the fundamentals of the image of the linguistic world of Central and Eastern European societies. Work conducted shows that the dictionary reveals its broad research context and revives a whole branch of intercultural and interdisciplinary studies becoming one of the factors of integration processes currently under way in Europe. The dictionary is intended for a broad audience. It first and foremost focuses on the needs of politicians and scholars interested in problems of Central and Eastern Europe; it will also be of use to translators of official documents and students of political science.
