"Paribinė" lietuvių literatūros istorija

LTTai Pawelo Bukowieco monografijos „Dwujęzyczne początki nowoczesnej literatury litewskiej“ (2008) recenzija. Monografija apima XIX amžiaus pirmojo trečdalio lietuvių literatūros istoriją, arba tai, ką lituanistikoje įprasta vadinti „Lituanistiniu sąjūdžiu“. Studija intriguoja keleriopai: ir metodologiniu požiūriu – kaip literatūros istorijos darbas, ir dalykiniu – kaip žvilgsnis iš šalies į gerai pažįstamus autorius, literatūros reiškinius, tekstus. Knygos adresatas – lenkų skaitytojas – lemia pažintinę jos paskirtį. Tai faktografinis darbas. Dvikalbiai lietuvių literatūros reiškiniai monografijoje aptariami „paribio“ kategorijos lauke. Tačiau kažin ar „regioninis pasirinkimas“, t. y. kultūros laikymas vien paribio reiškiniu, neturinčiu savų centrų ir „spinduliuotės“, yra tinkama metodologinė prielaida užčiuopti kultūros savitumą. Polonisto atliekama literatūros tekstų analizė visų pirma yra reikšminga tuo požiūriu, kad kompetentingai įvertina lenkiškus tekstus. Šiuo požiūriu itin vertingi skyriai apie Klementą ir Valiūną. Lietuvių literatūra, žinia, nėra tarptautinės literatūrologijos objektas; ji patraukia atskirus žmones savo egzotika, vienokiomis ar kitokiomis sąsajomis su sava regiono kultūra. Dėl to tokie požiūriai iš išorės, kaip Pawelo Bukowieco monografija, yra labai vertingi ir brangintini, jie provokuoja lituanistinę tradiciją, skatina tokią reikalingą diskusiją ir pranoksta save kaip pažintinius veikalus, praturtindami istorinį lietuvių literatūros diskursą svarbiomis įžvalgomis.

ENThe author reviews the monograph “Dwujęzyczne początki nowoczesnej literatury litewskiej” by Paweł Bukowiec (2008). The monograph covers the history of the first third of the 19th c. Lithuanian literature or, what is commonly termed in Lithuanian studies, the Lithuanian Movement. The study intrigues both from the methodological aspect – as a work on literature history – and the subject-specific aspect – as an outsider’s focus on well-known authors, literary phenomena and texts. The book is addressed to the Polish audience, which explains its informative purpose. It is a factographic work. The monograph discusses bilingual phenomena of Lithuanian literature in the field of the “periphery” category. Yet it is doubtful whether the “regional choice”, i.e. considering culture a merely peripheral phenomenon which does not have its centres and “radiation”, is an adequate methodological precondition for feeling cultural distinction. The analysis of literary texts carried out by a Polonist is first of all significant due to a competent evaluation of the Polish texts. From this point of view, the chapters on Antoni Klementt (Antanas Klementas) and Sylwester Teofil Walenowicz (Silvestras Teofilis Valiūnas) are particularly valuable. Lithuanian literature is evidently not an object of international literature studies; it attracts individual people by its exotic character and certain connection with their own regional culture. Therefore, such approaches from the outside, like the monograph by Paweł Bukowiec, are very valuable and should be cherished; they provoke a Lithuanian tradition, promote this necessary discussion and excel themselves as informative works, enriching the historical discourse of Lithuanian literature with significant insights.
