Gabrielės Petkevičaitės-Bitės "nervai" - moters tapatumo komplikacijos

LTStraipsnyje Gabrielės Petkevičaitės-Bitės gyvenimo ir kūrybos analize siekiama atskleisti tapatybės komplikacijas moters, išeinančios į viešąją erdvę ir savo gyvenimą mėginančios tvarkyti pagal XIX a. Pabaigoje atrandamus ir įtvirtinamus naujos gyvensenos, elgsenos principus. Remiantis rašytojos rankraštiniu dienoraščiu, laiškais, atsiminimais ir grožine kūryba, norima parodyti, kokie tapatumo įtrūkiai lydėjo tuomet į aktyvią visuomeninę veiklą įsitraukusias moteris, kokias retorines galimybes jos turėjo arba neturėjo papasakoti apie savą patirtį, kurios skaudžiausi aspektai dažnai išliko tik užuominose, bendrybėse, tokiose kaip "silpni nervai". Bitės tekstuose užfiksuoti įvairių negalavimų aprašymai lyginami su Lisos Appignanesi tirtomis XIX a. pabaigos Vakarų Europos bei Amerikos moterų tipiškomis psichinėmis ligomis, diagnozuotomis kaip neurastenija ir isterija. ENThe analysis of Gabrielė Petkevičaitė-Bitė’s (1861-1943) life and creative work aims to reveal the identity complications of a woman entering a public space, trying to build her life according to the living and behavior principles that had been discovered and established at the end of the 19th century. It may seem that Bitė must have had a natural transition from a life philosophy shaped by nobility tradition - which included an education opportunity for a noblewoman, as well as an experience of cultural and social life in a noble family circle - to a new way of living, based on democratic worldview typical for the Lithuaniaphile generation. A detailed analysis of Bitė’s creative writing, journalistic texts, letters and memoirs - mostly concentrated on what had slipped past the eyes of her life and work researchers or on what lies behind the common phrases travelling from one critical text to another for more than a century - reveals a woman’s drama unfolded under the democratic life position that she declared and defended officially. The fragments of her diary that she kept as a young girl, as well as her later remarks in memoirs and letters show how a woman, whom, on the one hand, her father kept at home, and who, on the other hand, had always had higher aspirations for an independent life, finally ends up stuck in the middle.
