Psichologų etikos kodeksai slepia konfidencialumo dilemas

LTPokyčiai visuomenėje ir konsultavimo santykių prigimtis psichologams sukuria sudėtingus etinius-moralinius išbandymus, o profesinės etikos kodeksai suteikia tik bendrus patarimus, kaip spręsti vienas ar kitas etines dilemas. Esanti sudėtinga situacija nulėmė šio straipsnio tikslą - apžvelgti ir apibendrinti žymiausių autorių, atstovaujančių JAV, Kanadai, Didžiajai Britanijai ir rašančių psichologų etikos, kurie padėtų atskleisti bendrus, vienos labiausiai paplitusių dilemų - konfidencialumo dilemos aspektus. Pasirinktas tyrimo metodas - mokslinės literatūros apžvalga ir analizė. Apžvelgus užsienio literatūrą, galima išskirti keletą konfidencialumo dilemų tipų: etinės dilemos, kylančios dėl pačių etikos kodeksų ypatumų; etinės dilemos, kylančios dirbant su nepilnamečiais; dilemos, kylančios, kai grėsmė iškyla tretiesiems asmenims; ir dilemos, iškylančios psichologui dirbant mažoje bendruomenėje. Taip pat manome, kad etinio sensityvumo didinimas, prie kurio prisideda ir šis straipsnis, padėtų psichologams išvengti kai kurių su konfidencialumu susijusių etinių dilemų. ENEthical decision-making, related to the principal dilemmas, is a complicated process which is influenced by many factors: client’s values, attitudes and true experience, psychologist’s values, attitudes and true experience, public standards, ethic codes, laws and organizational needs. A psychologist seeks for the most effective ways of decision-making and tries to avoid ethical dilemmas; he or she should retain balance in all of these factors. The purpose of this study was to overview the articles of well-known authors working in field of ethical decision - making from such countries as USA, Canada, and United Kingdom. The method was literature overview and analysis. Conclusions: our research showed that in regard to fast changes in the society, newly appearing problems and shortage of normative data about psychologists‘behaviour and their relation to ethical standards, ethical codes provide only the general guidelines to solving the appeared dilemmas and psychologists are left with a right to trust their abilities to interpret and apply the principles in a certain situation. With reference to the scientific literature, it was ascertained that confidentiality is one of the most often dilemmas of psychologist’s work ethics and there are some types of ethical dilemmas, when we talk about confidentiality: dilemmas arise from indeterminacy in ethical codes, dilemmas arise when we work with children and adolescents, dilemmas arise working with danger to third person and dilemmas arise working in a small community.Literature analysis allowed revealing contradictions among authors in regard to ethical decision-making, also one-to-many and controversially evaluated ethic codes and ways of solving dilemmas, but increasing of ethical sensitivity could help psychologists to avoid some of ethical dilemmas.
