LT"Praėjo penkiolika metų nuo sovietinio ekonomikos modelio žlugimo, ir prasidėjo dramatiškos transformacijos Centrinėje ir Rytų Europos (CRE) šalyse. Vertinant iš šiandienos perspektyvos, atrodo, kad tie įvykiai jau seniai praeityje. Monografijos moksliniai redaktoriai prof. Bruno S. Sergi ir lekt. William T. Bagatelas realizavo puikią idėją pakviesti profesionalus, politikus, ekonomistus ir plačią akademinę bendruomenę pasidalinti savo žiniomis bei patirtimi, nagrinėjant transformacinius CRE šalių procesus iš etikos perspektyvos. Autoriai iš Serbijos ir Juodkalnijos, Slovakijos, Kroatijos, Slovėnijos, Lietuvos, Lenkijos, Graikijos, Italijos, Austrijos ir JAV pateikė savo požiūrius į etikos standartų diegimą ir puoselėjimą CRE šalių ekonomikos ir politikos transformacijose. EN"It has been 15 years since the crash of the soviet economic model and commencement of dramatic transformation in the Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Looking from the present perspective, it seems that these developments have been long gone. Then, both transformation processes in CEE countries and social sciences that analyzed such processes should have matured enough to provide an objective picture of development and systematic process alternation of the region," this is how Professor Habilitated Doctor Povilas Gylys (Head of the Theoretical Economics Department of the Vilnius University Faculty of Economics and former Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, 1992-1996) starts enunciating his thoughts in the introduction of the collective monograph entitled Ethical Implications of Post-Communist Transition Economics and Politics in Europe (2005). Scientific editors of the monograph Professor Bruno S. Sergi and lecturer William T. Bagatel have put their wonderful idea of inviting professionals, politicians, economists, and the wide academic community to share their knowledge and experience when analyzing transformational processes of CEE countries from the perspective of ethics. Authors from Serbia and Montenegro, Slovakia, Croatia, Slovenia, Lithuania, Poland, Greece, Italy, Austria, and USA have expressed their views to implementation and nurturance of ethical standards in the midst of economic and political transformations taking place in CEE countries. Thus, monograph has been significantly structured from two parts (part 1: Ethics of Economic Transformations, and part 2: Ethics of Political Transformations) that reveal a two-sided idea of the book.
