Lieporių mikroregiono gyvenviečių tinklas viduriniame geležies amžiuje centro ir periferijos aspektu

LTPriešistorės tyrimams pasirinkto mikroregiono apibrėžimas visada būna problemiškas dėl aiškių jo apibūdinimo kriterijų (administracinių, ekonominių) nebuvimo. Geležies amžiaus laikotarpio centrais galima įvardyti gyvenvietes arba kompleksus, susijusius su didele gyventojų koncentracija ar galios dimensija. Dauguma atvejų tam labiausiai tinka piliakalniai su papėdės gyvenvietėmis, laidojimo ir sakralinėmis vietomis. Šiuo atveju buvo pasirinktas ne geografinis ir ne socialinės raidos faktorius, o grynai teorinis aspektas. Pagrindiniu kriterijumi laikomas Lieporių archeologinio komplekso ištirtumas nemažo regiono kontekste. I tūkstantmečio po Kr. viduryje ir antrojoje pusėje Lieporių mikroregione buvo susiformavęs gana tankus gyvenviečių tinklas, kuriame išsiskiria Sauginių ir Šiaulių centrai, taip pat formuojasi Bubių ir Normančių centrai. Lieporiai, o kiek vėliau ir Pailiai, laikytini periferijos gyvenvietėmis. Sprendžiant iš nedidelio atstumo, skyrusio Lieporius nuo Sauginių centro, galima manyti, kad čia žmonės įsikūrė tuo laikotarpiu, kai didžioji Sauginių bendruomeninė, gyvenusi piliakalnyje, ėmė skaldytis į mažesnes ir kurtis ne tik papėdėje, bet ir kitose gyventi patogiose vietose. Gali būti, kad Lieporių gyvenvietės vieta buvo pasirinkta dėl eksploatacijai tinkamo geležies rūdynėlio. Pažymėtina, kad Lieporių mikroregionas priskirtinas žemaičių ir žemgalių kultūrų paribio sričiai. ENThe cultural landscape changes all the time reflecting the types of targeted human activities and ways of their social conduct. Elements of the cultural landscape are the locations of any type of human activity - settlements, burial sites, places of cult, mining of raw materials, cultivated lands, pastures, roads and others. The settlements of different types are the element of exclusive importance. The structural types of their arrangement on the territory have been analysed for several decades. The research papers of this type are already available in Lithuania. In the framework of contemporary developments of the local history research, the application of this method to the research of prehistoric times becomes relevant as well. The article discusses the study of the micro-region of Lieporiai, which has been distinguished on the basis of the theoretical criterion of the research level, where the centre of the region is considered the archaeological monument of the region - the archaeological complex of Lieporiai dating back to the 4th – 8th centuries – which has been investigated to the largest extent. The same principle has been applied in choosing preliminary chronological limits. The area under analysis covers the southern and south-eastern parts of what is now Šiauliai District. The article attempts to discuss the developing network of settlements in the framework of the remaining mounds, unfortified settlements, barrow sites and burial grounds as the integral elements of formerly inhabited areas. The major goal of research was to determine the central and peripheral settlements of the micro-region of Lieporiai and to define the status of the complex of Lieporiai within the same context.
