Baletas XIX a. Vilniaus teatro afišose

LTBaletas kaip savarankiškas muzikinės teatro kultūros žanras Lietuvoje įsitvirtino XX a. trečiajame dešimtmetyje, kai Kaune, tuometinėje Lietuvos sostinėje, pradėjo steigtis baleto studijos, o Valstybės teatre buvo suformuota baleto trupė. Tačiau šio meno tradicijos Lietuvoje gerokai gilesnės. Nors atskiras baleto meno apraiškas sunku būtų susieti nenutrūkstančia tradicijos gija, vis dėlto tam tikrais istoriniais laikotarpiais čia būta gana intensyvaus ir įdomaus šokio kultūros gyvenimo. Ypač daug medžiagos apie įvairiausias šokio ir baleto formas išliko teatro afišose. Didelė jų kolekcija saugoma Lietuvos teatro, muzikos ir kino muziejuje, nemažas rinkinys – ir Lietuvos mokslų akademijos Retų spaudinių skyriuje. Šiame straipsnyje, remiantis minėtose įstaigose saugomomis afišomis, siekiama paryškinti baleto istorijos Lietuvoje štrichus. Vis dėlto XIX a. Vilniaus teatro afišose išlikusios žinios apie šokėjus ir jų rengtus pasirodymus bei spektaklius nėra pakankamai išsamios – dažnai nenurodomi artistų vardai, kilmė. Tačiau apžvelgus vien afišų medžiagą, galima manyti, jog šokio kultūra Lietuvoje formavosi palaikoma atskirų entuziastų ir neturėjo tęstinumo, nes nebuvo ilgiau veikiančios šokio studijos ar mokyklos, teatro repertuarą formavo ilgiau ar trumpiau Vilniuje dirbantys antrepreneriai, remdamiesi trupėse dirbančių artistų galimybėmis. Akivaizdu, kad šiame laikotarpyje tiek Europoje, tiek Lietuvoje šokis buvo traktuojamas nelyginant šeimos verslas – tą byloja ir Vilniuje ilgiau dirbusių artistų, ir čia atvykusių su trumpesnėmis viešnagėmis iš svetur pavyzdžiai.

ENBallet as an independent genre of music theatre culture anchored in Lithuania in the third decade of the 20th c., when, in Kaunas, the then capital of Lithuania, first ballet studios were established, and a ballet troupe was formed in the State Theatre. However, the traditions of this art in Lithuania are far longer. Although, it would be difficult to relate separate expressions of ballet with a continuous thread of tradition, in certain historical periods, Vilnius faced rather intensive and interesting life of dance culture. A great deal of material about various dance and ballet forms was preserved in theatre posters. A big collection of these posters is stored in the Lithuanian Museum of Theatre, Music and Cinema. This article, based on the posters kept in the above institution, seeks to highlight the history of ballet in Lithuania. However, the information on dancers and their performances and plays preserved on the 19th c. posters of Vilnius Theatre is not extensive enough – the names and origin of the artists are usually not indicated. However, having reviewed the material of posters, it can be supposed that dance culture in Lithuania was shaping with support of individual enthusiasts and was not continuous, since there was not any operating dance studio or school in Vilnius. The repertoire of the theatre was formed by entrepreneurs working in Vilnius for longer or shorter periods. It is obvious that in Europe and in Lithuania dances were interpreted as a family business. This can be demonstrated by examples of artists working in Vilnius for a longer period of time and those arriving to Vilnius from abroad for a shorter stay.
