Litauendeutsche als Kolonisten in Litauen 1942-1944

LT1941 m. Vokietijoje atsidūrė 50142 Lietuvos vokiečiai. 1942-1944 m. sugrįžo didžioji dalis pasitraukusių 1941 pavasarį. Vokiečių kolonistai buvo apgyvendinti devyniose Pietų ir Vidurio Lietuvos apskrityse, vokiečiams, lenkams, rusams ir žydams priklausiusiuose ūkiuose, o lietuvių savivaldai buvo suteikta teisė perkelti lietuvius į tuos Rytų Lietuvoje ir kitose apskrityse nusavintus lenkų ir rusų ūkius, kurių neperėmė vokiečiai. Vokiečiams buvo svarbu padidinti savo tautiečių skaičių ir didesnėje Lietuvos dalyje sudaryti pirmąsias vokietinimo salas. Lietuvių savivalda tuo pasinaudojo, kad išstumtų iš Lietuvos lenkus ir rusus. Tikėtasi, kad vokiečiai tvarkingai perims ūkius su visu inventoriumi, o perkeltieji lietuviai gaus tokio pat dydžio ūkius iš lenkų ir rusų. Nelietuviai prarasdavo viską, nes jie negalėjo nieko pasiimti iš savo nuosavybės. Numatyta perleisti vokiečiams 6597 ūkius su 122,7 tūkst. ha žemės ir 4193 namus miestuose, bet spėta išdalyti tik apie du trečdalius sklypų. Į Lietuvą buvo sugrąžinta ir apgyvendinta daugiau kaip 28 tūkst. Lietuvos vokiečių, o perkelta ar išvaryta daugiau kaip 22 tūkst. lietuvių, lenkų ir rusų (žydai tuo laiku jau buvo uždaryti getuose, dauguma nužudyti). Vis dėlto ši kolonizacija buvo didžiausia užimtuose Rytų Europos kraštuose, išskyrus Vokietijai priskirtas Lenkijos sritis. Kartu tai vienintelis atvejis, kai asmenims, neseniai tapusiems Vokietijos piliečiais, buvo leista grįžti į gimtinę. Ar Lietuvos vokiečiai buvo nacionalsocialistų įrankis ir aukos? ENIn 1941, 50,142 Lithuanian Germans ended up in Germany. In 1942-1944 the majority who had withdrawn in the spring of 1941 returned. The German colonists were settled in nine southern and central regions of Lithuania, in farms belonging to Germans, Poles, Russians and Jews; the right to move Lithuanians to those farms expropriated by Poles and Russians in eastern Lithuania and other regions that were not taken over by Germans was left to the Lithuanian self-government. It was important for the Germans to increase their numbers and establish the first islands of Germanisation in the larger part of Lithuania. The Lithuanian self-government made use of this to oust Poles and Russians from Lithuania. It was expected that the Germans would take over the farms and their inventory in an orderly manner, and that the displaced Lithuanians would receive farms of the same size from the Poles and Russians. Non-Lithuanians lost everything, since they could not take anything from their property. There were plans to transfer 6,597 farms with 122,700 ha of land and 4,193 urban houses to the Germans, but only about two-thirds of the plots were distributed. More than 28,000 Lithuanian Germans were returned to and settled in Lithuania, and more than 22,000 Lithuanians, Poles and Russians were moved or driven out (by then, Jews were already put in ghettos and the majority had been killed). Nevertheless, this was the largest colonization in the occupied regions of Eastern European, aside from the areas of Poland given to Germany. It was also the only case in which individuals who had recently become German citizens were allowed to return to their homeland. Were Lithuanian Germans an instrument of the National Socialists or victims? Although they served Nazi goals in 1942-1944, they were both.
