Aukštojo stiliaus sumuojanti knyga

LTRecenzijoje aptariama Justino Marcinkevičiaus knyga „Pažadėtoji žemė“. Autorė teigia, kad Just.Marcinkevičius, visada pabrėžęs žodžio sakralumą ir todėl organiškai sutapęs su aukštojo stiliaus retorika, buvo tiesiog pasmerktas tapti viešos erdvės ritualine figūra.Tai rodanti ir ši knyga, kurioje publikuojami užrašai, pokalbiai, straipsniai, pasakytos kalbos per valstybines šventes, forumuose, posėdžiuose, per nacionalinio masto jubiliejus, prie naujų paminklų, prie laisvės aukų kapų. Pažymima, kad Just. Marcinkevičiaus autoritetas buvo pasitelkiamas visiems ypatingesniems kultūros įvykiams pažymėti. Atkreipiamas dėmesys, kad knygoje įterpta pilietinę poziciją atspindinčių eilėraščių, jų dalis dedikuota žymiems žmonėms. Itin vykusi eilėraščiu autorė laiko eilėraštį, skirtą Česlovui Kudabai. Aptariant publikuotus tekstus, pažymima, kad iš pradžių poeto kalbose dominuoja valstybės, politikos, kultūros paveldo, etniniai, socialinio neteisingumo klausimai, o maždaug nuo 1998-ųjų tekstuose atsiranda daugiau kūrybai ir patirtiems laisvės nuostoliams skirtų apmąstymų. Autorė teigia, kad „Pažadėtoje žemėje" labai aiškiai jaučiama moralinio autoriteto bendruomenei būtinybė, o Just. Marcinkevičius buvo vienas iš nedaugelio kėlusių šią naštą ir sąmoningai prisiimtą įsipareigojimą: liudyti, priminti, žadinti istorinę sąmonę ir tautinę savigarbą. Autorė konstatuoja, kad ir kaip kvestionuotas Just. Marcinkevičiaus vaidmuo sovietmečiu, žmonės niekad nepamiršo, kas nuo 1976 m. juos išmokė Mažvydo lūpomis skanduoti Lietuvos vardą.

The reviewer states that Marcinkevičius, who always emphasised the sacredness of a word, thus organically concurring with high style rhetoric, was simply doomed to become a ritual figure of public space. This book is also the evidence of the above. It publishes notes, conversations, articles and speeches delivered on public holidays, in forums, at sittings, at the celebrations of national anniversaries, at the new monuments or at the graves of the fighters for freedom. The reviewer notes that, being an authority, Marcinkevičius was invited to all special cultural events. The book also contains poems that reflect a civil position, and some of them are dedicated to prominent personalities. The reviewer considers the poem dedicated to Česlovas Kudaba particularly apt. When discussing the published texts, the reviewer notes that the issues of the state, politics, cultural heritage, as well as ethnic and social issues of injustice dominate in the first speeches of the poet, whereas the texts after 1998 contain more considerations focused on creation and suffered losses in relation to freedom. The reviewer claims that the necessity of a moral authority for the community is very clearly felt in “The Promised Land”, and Marcinkevičius was one of the few who took on the burden and consciously undertook a commitment to testify, remind and raise historical awareness and national self-respect. According to the reviewer, despite the questioned role of Marcinkevičius during the Soviet period, people never forgot who taught them to chant the name of Lithuania through the mouth of Mažvydas since 1976.
