Giuliano Bonfante, Baltistikos raštai. Scritti Baltistici

LTRecenzijos objektas – Pietro U. Dini ir Bonifaco Stundžios parengti Guiliano Bonfante "Balstistikos raštai", kuriuos 2008 m. išleido Vilniaus universiteto leidykla. Recenzijos autorius aptaria knygos struktūrą, pagrindines G. Bonfante įžvalgas. Recenzijos autorius teigia, kad G. Bonfante nuolat domėjosi baltų kalbų vieta tarp kitų ide. dialektų. Anot recenzijos autoriaus, 1931 m. pasirodžiusioje monografijoje G. Bonfante kėlė mintį, kad baltai užėmė tarpinę padėtį tarp dviejų kompaktiškų ide. kalbų grupių: rytinės (ji baltams artimiausia), į kurią įėjo indoiranėnai bei slavai, ir vakarinės, kurią sudarė italikai, keltai bei germanai. Baltų kalbose, anot recenzijos autoriaus, G. Bonfante rado nemažai ir archajiškų, ir konservatyvių ypatybių.

ENThe object of the review is the Baltistikos raštai (en. Writings in Baltic Linguistics) by Guiliano Bonfante, prepared by Pietro U. Dini and Bonifacas Stundžia and released by the Vilnius University Publishing House in 2008. The author of the review discusses structure of the book, and insights of G. Bonfante. The author of the review states that G. Bonfante was continuously concerned about the position of Baltic languages among other IDE dialects. According to the reviewer, in the monograph of 1931, G. Bonfante raised the idea that Balts held an intermediate position between the two compact IDE language groups: the Eastern (the closest to the Balts), which included Indo-Iranians and Slavs, and the Western, which was comprised of the Italics, Celts and Teutons. As the review author concludes, G. Bonfante found quite a number of both archaic and conservative features in Baltic languages.
